Well, the long wait is over! I picked up my 9mm Shield today. I've been on the wait list since October 30th. Haven't time to take it to the range yet, but I got it all cleaned up, mags are loaded and I am ready to go.![]()
That sounds like a Nagant.Russian 7.62 cal.Got some range time in with my new Shield 9mm. Love it. Had some buddies there so I got to shoot a few other types of weapons. Fun day. Shot a 1938 Luger, a replica "cowboy" revolver in .357, a couple of Springfield XD's in 9mm, a 6906 and strangest one one of all, an old Russian DA revolver. The Russian revolver had all kinds of idiosyncrasies like the bullets being set inside the brass cartridge, the hardest trigger pull I have ever experienced, and you unload with a tool to push the spent cartridges out...and they don't come out easily. Yep, a very fun day.
My Shield in 40 is my favorite pistol of all that I have owned

What type/bullet weight and brand ammo you guys shooting? So far I have shot 100 rounds Monarch (steel case ****) and 30 rds WWB both 115gr FMJ. Had one FTE with the Monarch...pretty sure my daughter limp wristed it. Otherwise, I have not heard any negative press on its reliability. Just bought 500 rds WWB 124gr FMJ to break it in some more.
