Hawaii 5 O, I had to laugh...

It's just a TV show. They are actors who are pretending to know what they are doing. Whether shooting guns, riding horses, or having a relationship, it's all make believe.

I know that's stating the obvious, but sometimes I wonder.

I've got to disagree with you on that one. If you watch some movies/shows it's obvious some guys are horsemen, shooters etc and some are fakes.

Duvall, Wayne, Eastwood, Tommy Lee Jones, William Devane, and especially Ben Johnson can/could all ride.

Segal, Selleck, Nuggent, Robert Conrad, Duvall, Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt, Josh Brolin are known to be frequent shooters.

Then there are the "other" guys.

I agree with you but the difference is, these guys actually have skills in the area. Ben Johnson never had to pretend he knew how to ride a horse and Tom Selleck doesn't have to pretend he knows which end the bullet comes out of.

Kind of irks me a bit when those Hollywood anti gun folks make millions off of, well, pretending they know how to handle and shoot a gun.

Now back to Five-O . . . another thing that is totally unrealistic is all the high speed chases and shoot-em-ups they do and they never seem to have to do any paperwork. They just yuk it up and move on to the next high speed chase or shoot-em-up. Most any cop in the trade will tell you they spend nearly as much time doing paperwork as they do on the job.

Leading up to that commercial the scene was that he had just been tied to a chair and beaten for a few hours. He grabbed the bad guy's Desert Eagle and shot a couple of bad guys. Maybe that was it...*s*

I didn't like the original 5-0, and I don't like the new one any better. Jack Lord, the original series star(?) (as McGarrett) was a rabid and outspoken anti-gunner, and many of the episodes had an anti-gun slant to them. I don't know if the new episodes do or not (I viewed only one, and it did not), but the old one left a very bad taste in my mouth for that reason.

This is most annoying to me also, but what really irks me is some of the "experts" on the Wednesday night gun shows on the outdoor channel. It is obvious that many of these folks who advise us on the art of marksmanship have gotten their experience form behind the keyboard. These guys cannot squeeze the trigger without closing their eyes and flinching. How on earth do they ever put the bullet on target, or do they?

I watched the show when it started. I do not like it.
Castle is my big favorite. Do not want to miss one episode.

I have to laugh at this. My wife loves Castle. I think it' the dumbest show on television although the last Christmas episode was good. I like the gun play in 5-0 but the show could rival Castle for the top spot as being the dumbest show. So when Castle is on I read and she does the same when 5-0 is on.
