...here on the south side of Indianapolis. Unless you want shotgun shells or .25 caliber ammo

Gander mountain shelves are thin and overpriced as well.

Obamination has no doubt made gun manufacturers profits soar this last quarter. I should have bought stock in Ruger and S&W this summer.

I can always find .22 here..CCI,remington,winchester,blazer..prices vary yes..but sometimes you can't be to picky.

As far as walmart though, nothing.

Was at BassPro yesterday and they had plenty in stock. Drove 35miles to check out Gander Mt. When I arrived the store had closed down for good :(. Guess I should have called lol.

Same thing here. Wally world, two of them, have very little. Gander Mtn has basically no inexpensive, bulk ammo on the shelves but reasonable supply of small quantity ammo and more expensive ammo.
Herb Philipsons has no Winchester 333 in stock but say it is coming soon.
I no longer shop at or go into Dick's, personal boycott.

I do have a mom/pop shop...VanTassells...just a few miles away and they have a decent supply, especially of the harder to find and more specialized competition ammo.
I suspect the shortages are due to everyone stocking up due to the ban hysteria, stores waiting on normal shipments and not expecting the rush to buy guns and ammo, holiday time off and closings at suppliers/manufacturers, etc. then trying to take care of their regular buyers and getting orders shipped to them.
I'd expect that shipments will start arriving fairly soon after the first of the year. I hope that prices don't jump up too much but will be watchful.
I will be buying bulk ammo throughout the winter. I do think, even if just from a cost effective mode, that prices will rise and there may be shortages until things cool down.

I called 4 walmart stores in three towns and the only 22 LR they had on the shelves was shotshells. One said they received two bulk boxes on Thursday but they were gone within minutes. They told me that they didn't expect more until late January. I'm guessing that must be when the normal ammo restocking cycle occurs though. Hopefully they will get more soon.

My son went to shoot at a local range the other day and they wanted $60 for 500 of the cheap stuff. I found that Atwoods (local farm and rance supply store) have boxes of 50 Federal Champions in stock for $1.99. Not the best deal but at least I was able get a couple dozen boxes.

I asked a Walmart employee today about ammo specifically 223 and he said that the Walmart warehouse was waiting on a shipment of ammo. I think that Walmart and other stores are not resupplying this ammo for fear of a caliber and rifle ban and if they buy the ammo they'll get stuck with it cause they can't sell it or send it back.

My local Walmart was the same story. Some .25, 22 shorts, shotgun ammo. No 223, no 9mm, no 40, etc...

Same here in North Carolina... Shelves are basically bare.

Guess my walmart is lucky lol. Always have 223,.40,.9mm..

Just never has the Feds that I like in .22....wish I kind of worked there still so I could keep track of the shipments and when they come in haha

Just returned from WalMart. I checked the ammo shelves just because. Not a single .22 LR cartridge. Some .380 ammo, though.

Same here in Jax, FL. They are still getting regular shipments or so they say but hours later what they put out is sold. You can buy some less common caliber stuff and some shotty but I can't even find any .22LR for sale unless they are unpacking it as I walk in on them.

Same here Wv / Ohio Border area...!!!
Same at the Dunham's here...!!!
Heard a emplyee at Dunham's tell a guy its like this every 4 years... LOL NOT...!!!

I was in Wal-Mart exactly 5 mins before 10pm (they don't sell ammo after 10pm) and was able to get all the remaining 10 boxes ofAmerican Eagle .223 Varmint (20 rnds/box) in the display cabinet. This, after a week of checking out everyday. Still looking for 9mm and .22LR

My city has 3 or 4 walmarts. All are out of 5.56/.223 and .22lr. even the more expensive .223 hunting rounds. Plenty of handgun ammo and just about all of the hunting ammo besides .223.

The prices there were the same as they were 3 weeks ago for all the ammo except the above exceptions. Who would have thought the best ammo salesmen were the anti gun politicians who would like to ban the weapons that the ammo is for.

Thay's a big pile of BS. They will sell everything they can get their hands on and more. Wallyworld didn't get that big because they were picky/choosy and noy willing to take any chances.
