M&P15-22 Mag development

People getting impatient and demanding are only going to drive themselves crazy. If you want one RIGHT NOW go make your own and see how long it takes

Even if this idea is vapourware, you are no worse off than you are now, unless you fork out money.

Let him get things done in his own time.

IMO I think that was pretty harsh. I don't think the op was demanding anything. Sounds like he wants to know when the video will be posted. After all Doomsday sounded like he was close to posting one. We are all anxious to see that. We all know what a difficult project this is though.

Starting to get a little anxious on the video.

Originally posted as impatient. Was edited to anxious after it was suggested as a better word. Many are getting pushy about it, and it's not helping anything but possibly frustrating to DT as he's trying and people are pushing harder and harder to see the video "now" and more "eta" posts coming. I'm sure he's just as excited, if not more to produce it. Patience is the name of the game.

I have tried to be very supportive to DT through this process by doing things like pointing people to the posts with answers to questions already asked. However DT said around Christmas that he would have a video up very soon.
I understand that the development process is long and arduous and they he is trying to develop a quality product and not just a product. I simply would like to see a video of his prototype in action. He said he had more than 4,000 rounds through it successfully. A quick video would be great.

DT, I hope you don't take offense to my use of the word impatient. I look forward to your video and to the final product. Keep up the good work.

Perhaps a video would reveal details that would be covered by a not-yet-issued patent.

I was just sitting here thinking the same thing.

But I was also thinking that if he didn't say there would be a video soon, nobody would be anxious.

Oh well, on with life.

ARE THEY DONE YET?ARE THEY DONE YET?ARE THEY DONE YET?jk wish you the best and hope you make it work.BTW im new to rifles and would like to know why its so hard to make the mags like you are trying to make?they make double stack mags for other size rounds and they work fine so why is it harder for the .22lr?is it just because the rounds are small?

I know some people are getting upset with DT, but let's not forget politically things have changed (whether temporary or not) and DT's hard work including time and money has the potential to be affected whether short or long term. I do not blame him for not releasing a video showing function and I couldn't care less that it hasn't been linked yet. This is a guy that is a small businessman who is designing something that has not been easy to use in other firearms. He may have put some pressure on himself by announcing this without a completed project, but as a member of this forum (or community) I'm sure he was pretty freaking excited to let the cat out of the bag. How about instead of questioning the product or the person, we sit back and relax and allow this to take its course.

He is literally a living example of what used to be the "American Dream." A normal Joe Schmo who has an idea/improvement over an existing product and sacrificed his own time and money to make his dream come true. Let's cut him A LOT of slack and support him through this journey.

Mostly it stems from the shape of the round. Because the rounds have the large rim on the back, getting them to stack properly and feed reliably is an issue.

The size of the rounds is a small issue, but mainly from the standpoint of the size of everything else. If you are working with a 120mm self loading gun you can have slightly wider tolerances because overall it is a very small % of change. If you add a millimeter for space no one will notice. Add a millimeter for a .22 and it's almost 1/4 the diameter of the round! Like adding 30cm to the 120mm!
