Did a first impression of my Performance Center Cary Comp Shield Plus a while back and the only thing I faulted it for was its trigger which felt gritty had to much creep. People replied it was most likely due to S&W not using a better grade of a striker block as is supposed to be in the Performance Center grade of M&P Pistols. One very helpful member here even posted pictures showing the difference between the higher grade striker block and a standard grade striker block I checked and sure enough my 4" PC Shield Plus had the standard grade.

Instead of sending her back to S&W to get the correct stiker block installed and loosing my gun for 6-12 weeks I ordered from Apex Tactical one of their Ultimate Striker Blocks as I was going to be replacing the factory sights with a set of XS F8 night sights so I might as well order and drop in the new striker block while I had access to it. To me it was well worth less than $45 to not have to send my gun back to S&W and loose it for 1.5 months or longer.

Did both the sight upgrade and striker block instal yesterday and are going to my gun range Monday as there are events at my gun club Saturday and Sunday. I could use the indoor range but I also would like to shoot several of my rifles as well.

My initial impression is the Apex striker block and spring eliminated all of the previous perceivable creep and mushyness and the trigger is now IMO excellent.
I will post back on monday my opinion of the updated trigger and the new XS F8 sights and if I have time I will put a MRD on at least one of my New Shields and see how fast I can get on target irons VS MRD.
