New M&P Shield

Went to my local range and they had gotten in Shields in 40 and 9. So I ended up grabbing the 9.

Feels really good in my hand and the trigger feels alot better than my Pro.

Only thing that is a little worrisome is the rear sight is drifted nearly all the way to the right. So hopefully going to get to the range to shoot it this weekend.

Have to figure out what holster I want. Buddy of mine has a crossbreed for his XDM so might look into that.

The sight may be aligned from the factory way right. That is how my Shield 40 came, and the accuracy was good.

That's awesome you got one....I'm still riding my high on getting my 40 Shield yesterday

I'm taking a real hard look at the Crossbreed Mini Tuck. I've never had a IWB before but this looks like a good one

Holster wise I run a MTAC. If I ever do get a 40 Shield, I just need the shield kydex body for $30.

Probably paid too much for it, but I haven't seen one here locally at all. Got it for $490 OTD. Isn't the first time I've over paid for something and most likely won't be the last.

Thanks for the suggestions on the holster. Just have to save up and see what I like. This was the definition of an impulse buy.

490 isn't horrible. It is probably the most sought after gun on the market right now and you got it for a few bucks over msrp.

I'm sure there are a lot of folks here that would gladly pay that

Thanks to all. Hopefully will get to the range on Sunday, I have to work all weekend so not sure on it.

Only 9mm I have been able to find locally is some PPU from Wally World. So will break it in with that.

On a side note, will the regular M&P sight pusher work with the Shield? Thinking of getting some night sights later on and don't really like whacking the **** out of my guns.

Thanks I saw that one, I think midway has the same one, but without the M&P logo and a little cheaper.

Does it seem to have good retention on the gun?

Congrats on the new Shield. $490 OTD is not a bad price... sounds like MSRP of $449 + local sales tax, which is what I paid for mine in June 2012. I've been carrying mine in a Remora and am mostly satisfied. I've got an Old Faithful on order (similar to Crossbreed).

today i received my PJ's holster in the mail. very comfy. its thin and has absolutely no extra bulk whats so ever. it feels like carrying without a holster but not having to worry about it moving. +1

Hopefully you have the Generation 2 MTAC. I used to wear an MTAC, but the kydex body cracked so it's unusable now. But I thought the same as you...Just buy a new Kydex body and I'd be good to go...Nope didn't work...I have a discontinued Generation 1 MTAC which Comp-Tac no longer supports or makes bodies for.
