It starts.... - Feinstein's Bill

At the big rollout:

“This is really an uphill road,” Ms. Feinstein said.

Not very inspiring, if she were, say, your military commander ahead of a big offensive. I think she knows the score, and was kind enough to make evident that this a long game designed to achieve an economic choke-out:

The goal of the bill, she said, would be “to dry up the supply of these weapons over time.”

The one to watch is Reid; what he does will signal much.

The goal of the gun grabbers in this IS NOT an AWB. The KNOW this will not pass the Senate and House. The goal is for a little bit here and a little bit there and to divide and conquer a little bit at a time.

Someone on the the Demorat side will offer a compromise, for example, give up assault magazines, and we will leave the rifles alone, and the bait will be taken.

After that compromise doesn't work, another one will be offered and accepted. This will be a death by a thousand cuts.

I contacted my Senator and told him no compromise will be accepted in this. You either support the Constitution as written and in its entirety. If not, you have violated your oath to the Constitution.

Let's not take our eye off the real target of the gun grabbers, registration then confiscation.

I would not get too excited about what guns are mentioned by name.

I have not yet read the bill, but would bet that it also bans guns based on their evil characteristics, such as a collapsible or folding stock, flash hider, pistol grip, bayonet lug, ability to accept magazines of greater than 10 rounds, etc.

I suspect they also through in their old favorite, banning any gun that is deemed non-sporting by Eric Holder, and the presumption that if it has ever been a gun purchased by the military or law enforcement agencies it is presumed non-sporting.

Now the battle begins in Congress.

So it says all Thompson Rifles, I have a bolt action Thompson and a Thompson Muzzleloader. The way it is worded it includes those!! It maybe a wording error but still!! I see they left the Mossy 464 off, I may have to get the "tactical" lever action!

Not really, they would have to specifically state Thompson/Center

How stupid can they get

DiFi has the Ruger Mini 14 Tactical on her list, but did not have the Mini-14 Ranch rifle. Same iron, different plastic/wood.

No offense intended. I was just surprised to see the Barretts on the list. Have they ever been used in a crime? Given how expensive they are, how many private citizens even own one of these beauties?

For that matter, when you're shooting a .50BMG, does it really matter if it's a semi-auto, bolt or single shot?

I fail to see the logic how they made their selections. My guess is that they went by appearance.

Because it has absolutley nothing to do with "crime" and "violence", but has everything to do with power and control, and no team want to go confiscate from someone with a Barrett.

DiFi will introduce her new and improved AWB bill tody.

Taking the lead from our distinguished Secretary of State, we can respond to DiFI's concern over our privately-owned AR15s in a like manner:

"What difference does it make?"

So far, it has seemed to work for her. But there is a difference. In our case we can honestly and logically say "none." The secretary would have a little problem with that reply to her specious question.

i think even picatiny rails would be a military feature under this bill. nothing is safe!

List of guns they want to ban.

Ok so here is a link to a site that shows a list of all the guns that they want to ban.

Here's the List of 158 Guns That Dianne Feinstein Wants to Ban in 2013 - Politics - The Atlantic Wire

I am kind of suprised, they are going after shotguns, and a few pistols. I am also suprised that there were 3 guns I didn't see on the list unless I missed them. M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, and the M14. Another one that I didn't see was the Ruger mini 30 however a variant of the mini 14 was listed.

Another thing I heard today that I hope isn't true and kind of upsets me, is that 53% of American's support the idea of these new gun bills?

Hope someone here finds this topic helpful. Just hope we can keep our guns. I love the ability to hunt, and shoot and its something I hope to be able to teach my children as they grow up. I feel like part of that is being taken away from me. I also love to collect old guns and in the bill they are working on they are looking to change the laws as it relates to curios and relics. I think this sucks since I like to collect old guns.

It lists the Mini 14 Tactical Rife (Sic). Guess they don't type too well in the Senate.:D I wonder if a "Tactical" Mini 14 is different in some way from a standard one.
They also list the S&W M&P 15 Rifles. Wonder if that includes the M&P 15-22?

I'm surprised the Springfield M1A and SOCOM 16 are not on there. Maybe the fact they don't have a pistol grip doesn't scare people.
Lets hope so.

Yeah its strange that some guns just aren't on there that one would think they might list??? To be honest, I don't feel like anything should be on that list at all. If we give them an inch they will just try to take a mile, and I really don't feel like we should have to give up any of our guns or our rights.

The good news, if you want to call it that, is that so far it sounds like they are only going to stop allowing these guns into our country, but not do anything about the ones that we already own.

I wonder though, are companies who produce guns on this list in the US will be allowed to keep on with production? I mean what if they ship them to other countries? If they do pass a bill, I hope no more Americans lose jobs over it.

I would hate to be in the assault rife industry right now. The are probably doing record buisness right now. But what happens if our government stops production? Then those people all lose there jobs?? Guess all we can do is continue to write congress and our government and share our unhappy feelings about all this, and just wait to see what happens? Hopefully we can do more than just sit here and watch as they take away our rights!!! Hopefully freedom of speech or religion isn't the next thing they go after. Before you know it we won't have any freedoms left.
