629 after Chinese ammo

These photos has been around for years and I don't think anyone has proven it's Chinese ammo that did this. Can't remember, but I think it was double charged reloads.

The chinese norinco ammo has been a top shelf ammo in 7,62x39 & 7,62x54r. Some say the 45acp norinco ammo was very accurate too.

Me neither! I had a shop back in the early 90s and sold tons of the yellow box Norinco/Chinasports .223/5.56 , 5.45x39 , 7.62x25 , 7.62x39 , and even .38 Special.
Never saw any .44 magnum.

That appears pretty staged, to me.
I can't imagine how you could get one chamber to blow up and then fire another round and blow that one up, too. Also, how does the round which (apparently) didn't escape from the cylinder, get there? The bullet would have locked into the forcing cone.
I guess that they placed it there for more "dramatic emphasis".

They say not putting enough gun powder in the case can do the same results. Low powder charge in a large case.

That actually looks pretty consistent with other KB photos I've seen. With nothing to direct the pressure it's a crapshoot what will happen to the bullets and cases in the adjacent chambers.
You're thinking of secondary explosion effect, flashover, a couple other names that escape me right now.
I did a lot of reading on it before loading up my light target loads in .357 Magnum cases. While there seems to be a lot of anecdotal evidence regarding light charges in bottleneck rifle cases I don't believe anybody's been able to make it happen on demand. It seems there is always the possibility that somebody screwed the pooch with a handload.
SEE with fast pistol type powder in straight wall cases seems to be a non issue although it's been shown that powder position can make a difference in pressure/velocity.
My guess on that particular gun was that somebody got done loading up some light target loads and changed over to Big Dog magnum charges and forgot to change the powder. An H110 sized charge of Bullseye will light things up pretty good.

Detonation has been observed when using too little of some powders in bottlenecked rifle cartridges.

Had a s&w compact 9 ( factory bobbed hammer) back in the 90s and shot norinco ammo exclusively. Never an issue, and paid $7.00 box of 50. GAD

Really? The cylinder turns counterclockwise. It's impossible for that bullet to be where it is, unless I'm missing something.
Even if it were a Colt and turned clockwise, it still wouldn't explain it. The bullet is beyond the forcing cone and has no damage to it. Ergo, it must have been placed there.

I don't think the bullet was there before the KB & I doubt that cylinder rotation was very relevant after...
