rail options for OR

just won an auction for a 15OR. ive been scouting out different rails and was really hoping to go with something like this https://danieldefense.com/rail-systems/ar-15-lite-rail/ar15-lite-railtm-9-5-fsp-carbine.html . though i havent seen or read about anybody using that combination. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, that is pretty spendy. I know taht DD is quality and all, but for close to $400 bones, that rail should clean your gun and do you laundry.

I put a Daniel Defense Omega 7.0 rail on my OR some time ago. Works great, is free floating, didn't have to remove the front sight base for the install, etc.

That rail you linked to is made to go under a front sight block, not the thicker OR gas block. I looked at a few different manufacturers and the response I got was that it wouldn't work. I didn't specifically email DD so I can't confirm on that one. However, I highly doubt it.

A carbine rail will work like the one that arizone98tj shows. You can also get pretty much any other drop in rail. If you are simply looking for a longer rail, then you just need to remove the gas block and install a low profile gas block. Then your options are pretty much limitless.

I got a Blackhawk rail for mine. It was about $115 and is a pretty nice piece. Midwest Industries also makes a nice one with a tab that fills the gap above the delta ring.

They don't fit the OR gas block, just FSBs. I confirmed that with Troy when I was looking for that option.

I'm still fairly new to these rifles but I thought free float meant it was attached directly to the upper and eliminated the delta ring.

swap out that railed gas block for a low profile gas block and you'll have a lot more options. I went with a rifle length rail on my M&P15 carbine.

low pro gas block and alpha rail will be coming in the near future. and a sexy eotech as well. though i still cant decide between the cr123 and AA's damn it..........

Thanks. That was the first optic I've ever dropped that much money on. However, it is everything I hoped it would be and I've no regrets having put it on the OR.

The link didn't work for me but I looked up the rail. Very cool idea. If it wasn't so expensive and if I hadn't just bought one I would probably snag one.
