I'm just a few weeks away from 60. I'm a Texan, a municipal employee, a batchelor, a mellowing conservative (except for the 2A!), a motorcycle bracket racer, a genealogy buff, and a packrat. I like hand-ejectors. I am a fairly honest man, compared to some of these liars. Sadly, I have met only a few of our members, but they weren't too scary.

Anyway. I'm a 68 year old native Texan. this pic is a couple of years old but I still look pretty much like this. Been a gun nut and shooter all my life. My two other passions have been fishing/camping on the beach, I grew up here on the Texas gulf coast where the sun is warm, the waves are salty and the fishin' is good.

The other is motorcycles. I tore my left knee up on Motocross so I went to the road bikes. When it got too dangerous to ride I got off but I still consider myself to be "scooter trash"

I am retired from a major oil company where I worked a rotating shift as a process operator. I have always enjoyed the out doors and even though I've slowed down some I still like to get after it sometimes.

I expect they maybe just found out you are from D.C. and do not yet realize you were maybe just stationed there until seperated from the service.....Once they find out, while you may have been in Washington, you are no politition, they will welcome you for getting out to the hollows of West-by-God Virginia !!

I am 67 mostly retired and have been married for 39 years. 2 kids, both graduated from LSU. One Granddaughter 13 that likes to act and dance. I have been programming computers almost 50 years. I still do a little, very little. I have a few S&W's and some other brands that I like to shoot. I visit my brother when I can because he is a great cook and he and his son kill enough deer to keep the table filled. I also like to do woodwork and I have built several pieces of my furniture. A few years ago, I got a C&R license and now I like shooting old guns too.

Had some of these in the garage in Texas before I moved here

won't ever have 'em again. But I have Jesus Christ, a much younger wife and own my home. Cars are paid for.
Have enough guns to shoot, mostly S&Ws. GREAT gun range right in town.

Nice to know about y'all.

I'm Bill and I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but we moved to Missouri where I started grade school. That's to get away from all that snow, my dad got tired of it. Again we moved to Texas get away from rain LOL. I started my 4th grade here. Been here since.

I'm 62 and just got my retirement but I've been on SSI since 2000. Too many heavy lifting in past jobs took the toll on my back, shoulders and neck. You wouldn't believe how many injections I had since then. I'm a regular at the pain clinic and my last one was just yesterday for my left shoulder. Pain sucks and I take Vicodins for the rest. Take it from me, macho is for the birds because you'll pay for it later.

I'm also hearing impaired because I had scarlet fever when I was little so the temp had messed up the nerves. I'm wearing hearing aids and lately they got better that I'm hearing pretty good.

I never married because I don't like commitments. I like to do what I want, when I want and how I want. My girlfriends didn't like that so they gone. At my age now I don't care.

I like to play with my toys which is my PC which I just built and my guitars. In my avatar is my fav amp and I have two custom made guitars. I like movies and collect DVDs of my favs, got close to 600 so far.

I and my sis live together and we are both independent so that worked out great.

Great thread! I was born and raised in New Jersey but lived most of my adult life in New Mexico. I spent 6 years in the Army, 5 years with the Post Office and retired a few years ago after 25 years in Law Enforcement. I'm pushing 60 and I've been married for 39 years and have 3 kids & 5 grandkids. During my LE career I was a firearms instructor & detective. Most of the the guns I own nowadays are S&W revolvers.

Allow me to present myself. Born in 1933. My real name is Colin; I wanted it for my username but it was already taken. I guess "Colin" doesn't come here much; I've never seen his signon. Instead I chose "Cyrano" for the size of my proboscis. Grew up in Connecticut but have lived in Texas since 1969. 20 years Army, one tour in Vietnam: I was lucky: only got shot at twice. Retired LTC. 20 years Federal Civil Service. Retired for good now. Married 40 years; lost her in 2004 to lung cancer. Two step children; they're really mine as I've had them since childhood. I collect too many things: US service rifles and pistols. Can't increase the collection much because what I lack now is really pricy. I like S&W Model 39s, French guns and straight pull rifles. Also have an interest in Iver Johnsons although I don't have many now. My New Zealand collection is all the way up to two: a MLE MkI* and a Victory revolver. Been reloading and casting bullets since 1954. I have a pretty good firearms library including probably more documentation on French weapons than anyone else. I believe you should have as many gun books as guns.
