When you're with your favorite women, have had a couple of glasses of wine, play some Barry White and hold on.It works for me.I guess this is what you mean by sensuous.:D:D

Bob-

If you mean "sensual", of those you list, easily, "Bolero." I believe it was played in the movie that launched Bo Derek to stardom, "10."

But Capt. and Tenille's, "Do That to Me One More Time" and many others are also very sensual. "Lady in Red" comes to mind. And Julio Iglesias's ,"La Carreraterra"(sp?) I haven't time now to dig out the CD and check the spelling.

The original version of, "Greensleeves" was also considered pretty sensual. But if I was setting up a seduction, I'd play that Iglesias song as the girl arrived. And have some nice wine ready.

I also have some New Age and Renaissance music that will serve well.

BTW, I like your description of, "Bolero" as hypnotic and repetitive.

Julio Iglesias - Baila Morena [La carretera] 1995 - YouTube

Here's Iglesias in, "Baila Morena", from that CD which also has "La Carretera". I recognized the CD cover from YouTube; the CD is "La Carretera." It also has that song.

I think Baila Morena means, "Dusky Dancer." It used to be on the soundtrack at the former Casa Rosa restaurant, if you went there. I got the song name from the manager then. Today, that's part of the Cantina Laredo chain.

Almost anything by Donna Summer; I have such indecent memories.:D

Actually, I was using the word sensuous in the terms of affecting the senses rather than the intellect. I see, however, that some of you guys are stuck in one of the more primal aspects of the senses.:D

Bob

Is there any other kind? ;)

When love is in the air, I like whatever my wife likes...Hall and Oates, Bread, Eagles, Neil Diamond, etc.....

Bob-

I think we are stuck in the realm of the libido, not of the intelllect. :D

But in the sense that I think you mean, The French National Anthem seems sensuous to me as well as does the Star Spangled Banner. And, "Finlandia".

I'm kind of partial to period music that allows me to mentally travel to places I have been to, or wish I could; "Castles in Spain" performed by Michel Legrand & His Orchestra always does it for me.

So many.....
my most recent would be:
Hallelujah as done by Katie Lang (at the Olympics)

(with close second as the version by Katherine Jenkins, but it might be just because I would much rather fantasize about Katherine than Katie.;))

Rolling in the Deep by Adele fits in there somewhere.

(You will need to Google these to listen as I don't want to chance a copy-write infringement.)

However, my all-time tearjerker is Amazing Grace on the bagpipes...

There's a lot of Beethoven that hits me right. A little more modern would be Sittin on the Dock of the Bay, and A Whiter Shade of Pale. To rock harder would be listening to Cheap Thrills.

If you want to hear a really beautiful sensuous, not sensual song listen to Bolero In Blue by Larry Clinton in old HiFi.
