The following is very good. One problem with our entire form of government and the only deficiency I can lay at the feet of our forefathers is the lack of a Constitutional Defense Branch of government. I’d vote for a party that would add an amendment for that branch and gladly approve of my taxes be used to fund it! So many laws and policies today are unconstitutional yet they are allowed to exist. We the people cannot afford to take every case to court. If it wasn’t for the NRA, we wouldn’t even have the constitutionally correct Supreme Court 2nd amendment decisions we just recently won!!

Those who say they believe in the 2nd amendment but just want reasonable restrictions and just want to ban this or that for “public safety” are mere incrementalists plugging so many holes in it, that it would be meaningless. And of course that is their agenda.

Subject: If They Come for Your Guns, Do You Have a Responsibility to Fight?
Posted on January 3, 2013 by Dean Garrison...

"I feel a tremendous responsibility to write this article though I am a little apprehensive. Thinking about the possibility of rising up against our own government is a frightening thing for many of us. I am not John Rambo and I will be the first to admit that I do not want to die. The reason I feel compelled to write this, however, is simply because I don’t think the average American is equipped with the facts. I feel that a lot of American citizens feel like they have no choice but to surrender their guns if the government comes for them. I blame traditional media sources for this mass brainwash and I carry the responsibility of all small independent bloggers to tell the truth. So my focus today is to lay out your constitutional rights as an American, and let you decide what to do with those rights. About a month ago I let the “democracy” word slip in a discussion with a fellow blogger. I know better. Americans have been conditioned to use this term. It’s not an accurate term and it never has been a correct term to describe our form of government. The truth is that the United States of America is a constitutional republic. This is similar to a democracy because our representatives are selected by democratic elections, but ultimately our representatives are required to work within the framework of our constitution. In other words, even if 90% of Americans want something that goes against our founding principles, they have no right to call for a violation of constitutional rights."

We do have a method of defending the constitution. In fact, we have two methods.

1. State nullification.

Unfortunately, since the passage of the 17th amendment, state governments no longer have any control over the actions of their senators, and the states are too dependent on federal tax handouts to have the courage to stand up to the feds.

2. Jury nullification.

Unfortunately, most people in this country were educated by the government, and don't realize the tremendous power they can wield from the jury box. "Your honor, we have carefully considered the facts in this case, and the overriding fact is the law the defendant is accused of violating is unconstitutional. Therefore, we acquit the defendant."

One of the reasons the freedom protected by the 2A is under constant attack is that too many people (again, because they were educated by the government) think that rights come from words written on a piece of paper. They do not.

We have rights because we are humans. Because we are human, we have the right to life. Because we have the right to life, we have the right to liberty. Because we have the right to life and liberty, we have the right to acquire property and pursue our idea of happiness. And we have the right to defend those rights.

That's my philosophy, anyway.

All of this, I learned in Civics class in high school, which I understand is no longer taught. It has been replaced by various 'history' months, studies in self esteem, studies in anarchy and how to undermine and destabilize our country and our form of government. The horror of this brainwashing is that when the time comes to make the ultimate decision in protecting what is unique about America, a majority of Americans will mistakenly see true patriots as terrorists and act accordingly.

If "they" come for your guns, it won't be when you're ready. It'd be a no-knock swat raid in the middle of the night, or easier still, when you're at work.

Thus, people wanting to resist would be forced into being the aggressors if they wanted to pick the time and place of their last stand, which would make the gun owner doing so into the villain. The gun owner would be portrayed as a lunatic, and it will make sense to the people watching the news that "we need to disarm these crazy people."

If it comes to confiscation, we will have already lost. The time to fight is now, by calling, mailing, and visiting your representatives. Fantasizing about a last stand is an exercise in mental masturbation.

They want our large capacity mags as well as a record of the ammo were buying too. They also said they want all our semi auto rifles.(CT) I think i'm going to collect swords and knives, all of them next.

BUDK.com - Knives & Swords At The Lowest Prices! is a great place to start with knife collecting.

My question is will there be a buy back or not?

A few years back they passed a bill here that said 30rd mags were ok, nothing larger. Now they say its down to 20rds now. Will they buy back our 30rders??

My problem is i'm disabled and i'm having a hard time as i get older shooting the bolt action rifles when hunting and at the range. I felt that the semi auto rifle was the way to go for me but now thats changing.

None of this matters. All of us can talk, post, contemplate and postulate what we would do if someone knocked on the door to confiscate. We can point out our interpretation of the obvious, "shall not be infringed", is really pretty simple. But in the end, it isn't the constitution. It is political will. The make up of our representation (cough cough), the make up of the courts, and the whims of the media all conspire to work against us at this point in time.

The argument morphs from blatanly wrong to politically correct (global warming becomes climate change, pro gun control becomes anti gun violence, etc). The barrage of local, state and federal moves to restrict are just pirannah nibbling away at the flesh of the 2nd Ammendment.

There are a couple of ways this will go down. If the vast numbers of gun owners get organized and finds a voice (the NRA has a problem in that Lapierrie is NOT the voice unfortunately). Or a state or jurisdication goes a bit too far and becomes a flame that ignites a truly sad event.

In a strange way I am a bit frightened about the future of our country and the place my kids will inherit shortly.

Hear, hear Scott. My grandkids future and freedoms shall not be what I was blessed to grow up in and with. Truly sad that those of us who understand what and why this country was the greatest on earth are growing old or have passed on already. You get complacent and don't miss it till it's gone!

I have wondered if and when they do begin to confiscate, and I believe they will, would they start in a blue state where it might be easier, or in a red state while they have all their goons still around. If they started in a red state, my thought is, they might find some major resistance= loss of goons. I really hope it doesn't come to that, but every point made above sure doesn't paint a rosy picture for us. Still waiting on that referendum from the Governor for a vote on Texas secession. It is good for me to come here and read the thoughtful, educated and calm comments from you level headed guys though, compared to some of the stuff you read out there. God help and bless us all. Over and out.

And there's the difference between those that get it and those that don't... I used to rate friends and family as to whether I'd trust them to walk behind me with a gun. If you understand the responsibility, it says a lot. Also wanted to note for the NRA among us that the recognition of responsibility, aka.. the first gun from dad or grandpa.. was (is) a cultural right of passage in this country for many of us. These are the positive elements that are lost because fear sells...

It really comes down to us....We have the ability to keep all our weapons....We must also have the will, and the I will not quit attitude along with I will not surrender or comply. Are they willing to kill me to get my guns? Are they willing to die in the process? We have the numbers on our side....many soldiers have the will....and we need to be prepared to defend our rights. Its all up to us. I will not surrender my rights, firearms, magazines or ammo to any government that would infringe on my rights and try to trample my freedom. I am willing to die fighting for what I will never give up. I do not want to see a war...not in my country...but I will never surrender my freedom to any government that breaks the Oath. We can stand together and send a strong message...they can not take from us what we will not give, we are Americans and we stand for Freedom and we will face any foe that tries to take it and they will pay a heavy price to try and take it....and they will lose the war. Its our will that will be tested, we have always been up to the challange before and this time will be no different....the people will prevail in defence of our freedom. Fighting for freedom has always been ther right side to be on and we are free today because brave men bought our freedom with their life...we owe the future generation of Americans no less than we have had. Rally to the cause of freedom.

When the time comes, they will terrorize the population into submission with a few high profile cases. The IRS uses the same tactics every year with tax evaders.

I am highly skeptical that anyone will actually resist, passively or otherwise. Most can't even summon up enough courage to vote for other than a D or R, and harass everyone else for 'throwing their vote away'. When all you are willing to do is vote for the lessor of the evils, quit complaining that you end up with evil.

The forefathers and citizens of this country felt the Constitution was worth defending and dying for. If it was worth it to them, it's worth it to me!

I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God!

I remember the oath I took years ago and I still live by it. And I always will.

You must have never served in the military....many men have the courage to fight for what they believe in even if it causes their death. many have...visit a national cemetery sometime...they had what it takes and so do we. We are HOME LAND SECURITY, we are the enforcers of the constitution, we have the numbers, we have the ability and many of us have the will. Should they try to take our guns...they may win the first few battles....but the ground swell, will swallow them whole. King George tried it and see how it worked for him. I have seen resistance before....the VC had the will....we have the numbers that make the VC and NVA look anemic....we will never have to fight this battle because long before that day comes....the government will realize they have crossed a dangerous line. We can and will prevail in this endevor. There is not the slightest doubt in my mind. If you believe you can or you believe you Can't.....your probably right. Rally to the cause of freedom.

You guys do what you want, but I don't have any guns.

That's the truth, Officer.
