Like new, with box and mag. Only paid $450. I watched a used one sell for $1100 on gunbroker today, another new one is up to $915 with 2 days left.

This thing is a dream to shoot, very accurate, and looks great!

Congrats; I got mine a year ago NIB for that price range. Mine likes Blazers very much. I put around 5000 rounds thru it.

It's a blast to shoot with the iron sights even. Zero recoil at all, much less than the rifle even.

Great Deal. Just picked up my second one today. Swap meet at the local range. Pistol, CHEAP laser, CHEAP flashlight and TruGlo sight, black canvas bag, sling and 5 mags. I know, post not worth a dang without pics but just got home. $500 for all. Same as I paid for my NIB with 2 mags last month. Go 2 years without seeing one and in 1 month - BAM!

ill-informed

Not sure if that is the real reason, but makes some sense. Too many un-informed gun owners out there. Ignorance of the law is not a defense, especially when dealing with the BATF! A lot of reasons I suspect though, all culminating in the demise of the coolest, yet 2nd most useless firearm on the market. Pistol upper on a Rifle Lower and vice/versa = BATF badness!!!! Those guys/gals do not have any sense of humor whatsoever. Not even sure I want to put the 15/22 rifle and pistol in the same safe. May need to get a dedicated pistol safe (sadface - not really:))

DPG, are you saying that the ability to add a forearm grip made them a target of the feds? You can put a grip on any pistol if you wanted to bad enough. That still has nothing to do with manufacturing though. Maybe they weren't selling

Putting a vertical foregrip on a pistol automatically turns it into a NFA-regulated and controlled firearm requiring a NDA stamp. Without it the stamp one risks a large fine, felony conviction and serious jail time.

Personally, you couldn't give me a 15-22P.

yep

probably the real reason. Sales = profits = more sales, etc. We can only speculate at this point, but probably a mixture of everything - low sales, low profit, increased liability, increased manufacturing cost. Or maybe they knew it would turn into a "grail gun" and stopped making it. Lots of theories, little substance. low sales make the most sense to me. bet they come out with a "commerative" model in the next few years. Seems to be the modus operandi over the last few years. Love the old ones, not sure about the new ones. have passed on more than 1 "lock" gun.

Yeah I understand about NFA. It just seemed that S&W wouldn't want to discontinue a popular gun. Maybe it only became popular because it was discontinued.

Ironically, a Magul AFG is not considered a pistol grip, so many people put those on them.

If I ever saw one at that price I think I would just have to buy it! I agree that they seem pointless, but that's a cool one to add to the collection. You guys scored some sweet deals on them, just saying!

1 - the last sentence, plus, I think, too many potential BATFE problems.

2- true, on a rifle they are legal.
