What has happened to men's jeans

Who makes those ball room jeans? They're real comfy and last a long time. They'll even replace em if you wear em out too fast!

Call them jeans, blue jeans, dungarees, whatever, has anyone noticed the great American pair has become a rag that fits nobody over the age of 16.

After being a life long Levis 505 wearer I have recently discovered they don't care about clothing the aging baby boomer, you know, the demographic that kept them alive and an American icon sought out throughout the world.

I usually resupply bluejeans about every 5 or 6 years and was horrified to find the new version sucks. Sits below the waist and is as thin as tissue paper and poorly made.

Found refuge in Lee, still a nice heavy fabric that sits at the waist where people my age need to wear them.

If you haven't been to the store, you're in for a rude awakening.

Well I stopped buying Levis when they pulled their support for the Boy Scouts. Wranglers still suit me fine. :) On the fad of wearing torn and ragged ones, had a Grandson, 14 at the time get off the plane in a pair. I said nothing, just ask him if he had been in an accident- He barley spoke, no, took them off when we got home and I never saw them the 2 weeks he was here. :)

I dumped Levi years ago..........I will NOT spend my money at a company who finances anti-gun organizations.

The past few years I have been wearing JC Penny Arizona brand. I recently had back surgery and my height shrunk just a bit and I need a 28" inseam..........Carhartt sells one..........so I'm currently off to Carhartt dungerees.

Next time I get jeans, I'm going to try 1791s -- a company Glenn Beck started. The fabric is woven in North Carolina and sewn in Kentucky.

From the 1791 website:

The idea for the jeans came in 2011, when Glenn was doing research for an episode of TV focused on the fashion industries use of advertisements that celebrated the protests in Europe and the Middle East. Glenn found that jeans, an iconic American product, were no longer being made in America.

My 50 x 30s dont get it anymore.

What is wrong with Wally World's "Faded Glory'" jeans. Very comfortable, very cheap and who gives a damn where they are made. ALL jeans are made overseas!

Yup, $10.00 a pair. Or you could spend big bucks here.Mens Pants | Mens Shorts | Filson

I like Filson. But I think I would rather spend $100 bucks and get ten pairs!;)

I gave up on Levis years ago when they went overseas. Then I found out they were anti gun. I wear Wranglers now. Our local discount store had Wranglers last year for $8 bucks a pair so I bought 4 pair. That will last me a real long time.

Notice where Levie's are made now...Central America....Sad that a jean that was as American as apple pie now is second maybe third rate.... The fit is horrible,,,So sad.......Wrangler and Lee seem to still have a higher waist model...

Another Wrangler 13MWZ "Cowboy Cut" fan. I've been wearing Wranglers since they were known as Wrangler Blue Bells and came with a little Rodeo riders comic book in the back pocket. The "Cowboy Cuts" are a little higher in the waist. As keith44spl says, startch is good........my present wife said she knew she was in love when I came out of the house with startched, creased Wranglers......so far it is working out.

The Levi's Denizen line from Target is what I had to move to. It's sad that most of today's jeans don't allow for much butt, or anything up front. I need space for my family jewels. I look at guys wearing skinny jeans and can't imagine where their junk is, let alone how the heck they sit down.

Just saw this headline - the fashion industry listens and responds :D:

American Eagle's New 'Skinny Skinny' Jeans Are Actually ... Body Paint

The 1791s sure do look interesting but the button fly is a show stopper for me. I need a quick draw sometimes and don't have time to fiddle around with buttons.

Holy cow, I just found the price $129.00 a pair, so sorry, no deal there at all. For that money I would need a young lovely to do the buttons for me.

Check this out.

What about those jeans that promise to never expose your butt crack; I forgot the name?

I wear wrangler or the new levi's denizen from target. I will have to check out the link to the american made clothing though, I didnt know such a thing still existed!

You'll find that while most styles of Levi's vary in cut, weight and quality the 501 button fly largely hasn't... Been wearing them since my teens and still remember sitting in the bathtub filled with water to get them to shrink properly and beating them against the garage wall to soften them up.
Now they are available in many finishes and colors but I still opt for the over dyed traditional and break them in myself.

100% Made in America Jeans - Texas Jeans

Well you're right about the price being a "deal stopper." I do actuley prefer a button fly though. No matter how much too much a fellow might drink he's not likely to get his (you know what) caught in a button hole.

Diamond Gusset are made in the USA, and around $50 + shipping. They got extra panel for balls. I have a pair of their riding pants.
