ProMag 32 round mag

Compared to the Plinker Tactical's 35 rounder, which seems more reliable? To those who have used or witnessed both. Thank you in advance.

Go with the ProMag. The Plinkers are a 50-50 possibility of junk. Their quality control is non-existent. This is from experience, not reading Internet reports.

I have 3 of the 32 round Pro-mags and they have worked flawlessly to this point.

I got my 3 in from VT and I had like 1 or 2 hiccups but I didn't think to troubleshoot it. I just chalk it up to either the ammo or just the fact that rimfires aren't 100% reliable.

Manufacturing tolerances are different. Polish the inside of the mag well and the outside of the mags.

Will do. Any recommendations to resolve the stove pipes and ftf? Anythink to polish inside the mag itself? The ftf certainly could be improper load, I'm more concerned with the stovepipes...

Tia...

Has anyone seen the promag 32rd mags in stock lately? Do you think these might be a reasonable candidate for a "cut-down" mod to make a 15rd magazine (NJ Compliant)?. I'd be willing to post pics and the process, if I could get a hold of a couple of them.

Tactical Vantage has them in stock about every couple of weeks... Check out their web site and put in for a notification on the long 10 round mags which can be modified to 32 rounds pretty easily from what I understand.

I got my two 32 round mags in today from vantage tactical and my mags fit super snug in the mag well. If I press the mag release button they wont drop freely. They wont even move haha I have to press the button and pull the mag out. It doesn't really bother me that much since i dont do mag changes or anything like that. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem

It's called manufacturing tolerances. Not uncommon at all with moulded products. A light touch with some 400 grit paper on the sides of the magazines solves the situation.

I ordered 2 32 round ProMags last friday and just got them from UPS! That and the other goodies I ordered from Amazon....gonna be a fun weekend for me!

Ran into an odd problem, my magazines wouldn't lock into my rifle. Tried 2 other rifles. They locked into one...

I had to shave some material away (on the magazines) from the indent where the magazine release locks the magazine. Hope this helps for people who have the same issues. its about 1/20th of an inch of material.

Ordered a couple ProMags a couple weeks ago and took them to the range. Put around 500rds thru them and they functioned perfect. They work just as good as the Factory S&W mag.

I have one Plinker mag I received recently and it functions fine, but loading it is a pain in the ***. The ProMags function and load identical to the factory mag.

I just ordered a couple more ProMags tonite. :D

I have the same issue as you with 2 of the 3 32 rounders that I got earlier in March from Tactical Vantage. I finally got a chance to take out my new FDE MOE last Wednesday and the S&W FDE 25 round mag was fine. First ProMag would wiggle loose after 3 or 4 shots and drop out far enough to no longer feed. Re-inserted it and got a few more shots, rinse, repeat. Second ProMag was fine. Third had the same issue as the first. I was running CCI 36 grain bulk (Troy Landry Special Edition) through all the magazines.

I cleaned the rifle earlier tonight and had a chance to try the mags in just the lower. When I wiggle the 2 that would drop after several rounds they come loose.

Which part of the notch that the latch catches did you shave down? Did you make it deeper? Or taller? If taller, did you shave the upper or lower surface of the notch or both? How as it been working for you? I'm up for trying some minor tweaking but if it's going to be a major issue I'd rather just involve ProMag and send them back for service/replacement.

I finally got to speak with a person at promag on Thursday about noon CDT concerning my order placed 2/4. They acknowledged the "mix up" in processing orders and promised to call me back by COB after they looked into my order. No call, I'm shocked ;)

It's an easy fix. Buddy at LGS helped me out.

This area here is why the magazines won't lock in. You have to cut a small amount of material away. Just take it slow, see if it locks, if not keep cutting.

A sharp knife was used, a box cutter or hobby knife would work just as well.

It was literally a sliver. All 3 magazines had to be modified.

Like I was saying just do it slow, and take it off little by little until they lock in the rifle and can't be pulled out.

Thanks! That's what I suspected might need to happened but wanted to get a second opinion before I started cutting or brand new magazines.

ProMag 32 rounds do not engage mag cacth

Received 4 32 round Promags from TA last week (have 5 more on order directly). Have 2 M&P15-22 rifles. The factory S&W 25 round mags fit nicely and engage the magazine catch perfectly with a nice click.
The ProMag lock in and engage the magazine catch (although not with a reassuring click) on one gun. The second gun the magazines will not lock in. You can hold the mag in place and it works fine.
will try on a 3 rifle tonight. But a little disappointing the factory mags work on all guns the ProMags do not. Have inspected the catch on the one rifle and no issues with it.

Anyone else have an issue with Promags not engaging the catch?

Just saw the above post with the same issue. That is the same problem and location.

I know it isn't ideal but you may have to alter the magazines. It's quicker than sending them in :S

Finally got to test my promag this weekend. Loaded it 4 seperate times w/ 30rd and had no issues whatsoever. Still a little peaved about their customer service but have to say this mag works well.
