I am going to try to get a trust completed and purchase a suppressor by the end of the year. I have been looking at the Sparrow, the Spectre II and the Surefire. I have not made up my mind yet but quietness is my biggest buying factor.

I am curious as to what ones you are using, but more curious about the ammo. Do you use sub sonic rounds in your 1522 suppressed? Do they cycle the action well? How quiet is the gun suppressed with standard velocity rounds?

The suppressor would also be used on my Ruger 22-45 Lite. From what I understand you can use standard velocity rounds in pistols because of the shorter barrel.

I'm 3 months in to my wait for my 22Sparrow, so I can't answer all your questions from personal experience. However, everything I read told me all of these will be very similar in quietness. The minor differences noted on those tests are indistinguishable to the human ear. As opposed to quietness being your biggest factor, I would suggest ease of disassembly & durability.

I currently use CCI subsonic & CCI standard velocity, which also is subsonic. They cycle perfectly in my 15-22 unsuppressed & from what I understand, the suppressor increases back pressure, which helps in this regard. So I expect no issues at all.

Mine will also be used on my Buck Mark (just got in from shooting it) and everything I've read states the short barrel keeps all rounds subsonic.

Sorry that I couldn't be more help.

No suppressor (yet) --- both Remington and Eley Subsonic cycles fine in my 15-22. In fact I just fired both brands at a slow and moderate rate and experienced no FTE, etc.

I created a Gun Trust to bypass the county Sheriff. It took 18 days for the Feds to send the tax stamp.

I originally purchased a Gemtech Outback II for my Walther P 22. I have used it with my M&P 15-22 Performance Center without any FTF of FTE.

18 days?!?!? When was this???

I have a Sparrow. I use it on an M&P 15/22, a Ruger 10/22 Target, (had the barrel threaded), Ruger 2245 Lite, and a Savage Mk II bolt action.
Pistol is subsonic because of shorter barrel. Rifles work very well with CCI standard. You will be surprised at how much noise the "action" makes when the bullet is quiet. I have used some sub sonic ammo in all, but do not like it because it is VERY dirty. CCI standard is slightly louder than sub sonic, but for me worth it because it is cleaner.
I do use CCI quiet in the Savage bolt action (this ammo will not cycle any of the semi auto's).
My wife tells me that the bolt action, with CCI quiet does not make as much noise as her Daisy Red Ryder BB gun. She harrasses the squirrels that raid her bird feeders with the BB gun. I kill the squirrels with the Savage. We live in a subdivision (open field behind us). None of the neighbors on either side of us have ever heard the .22 when fired.
You will NOT need hearing protection with a supressor on a .22LR
I have fired a 1911 in .45ACP with a supressor and it is still very loud. Decided not to get that one.

I own the Spectre II and the SS Sparrow. The Sparrow is quieter on a rifle but has a 1st round pop on a pistol. It's the easiest to clean. The Spectre II is quieter on a pistol and still very quiet on a rifle but has more blowback.

You will need to use subsonic or standard velocity (still subsonic) ammo on a barrel longer than 5". Both kinds work well with the 15-22. Avoid Remington subsonic as it is very inconsistent and underpowered. It usually will not expand enough to seal the chamber and is noticeably louder than CCI subs or CCI SV.

You can use the subs and SV on the Ruger Lite. You can also use high velocity as the 4.5" barrel will keep it subsonic. I think HV is also more reliable.

Can you hunt with a suppressor? I am thinking about getting one but what good is it if you can't use it. Sure at the range but if no one else is using one than what is the point.

That depends totally on your own state's hunting and firearms laws.

^^^^what he said. Cans are great because they can be swapped from gun togun. Understand up front if the bullet breaks the sound barrier it will be 140dbs give or take. Considering that a 22lr rifle isn't much louder than that its still alittle loud. So Basicly if your barrel is much longer than 4" you will need to shoot standard velocity or slower ammo.

The way around this is to go integral. These do not swap from gun to gun because they are made on to/in to the barrel itself. The advantages with this is they can be tuned so that all 22lr ammo stays under the sound barrier so that usually cheaper bulk ammo can be used. These are usually much quieter simply because they tend to have much more volume to deal with the gasses ..

Get the Spectre II. I was torn and the lack of first round pop on the Spectre sold me. I think its a tad quieter on the 15-22 as well.

Run mine on a 4.5" barrel, could not be happier.

ok so why exactly do you need to do a trust?i understand the BATF stamp but what is the trust for?i want to add a suppressor to my 15-22 as well but dont get the trust thing.the stamp form BATF is $200 but the LGS said the lawyer they suggested charges $300 to do the trust so now you are at $500 and you dont even have the suppressor yet.BTW to those waiting for the BATF to process your paperwork,i read an artical yesterday that said they are all caught up now and processing class 3 stuff on 5-7 days.i wanted to make my own suppressor but apparently in Florida you have to have a FFL to make one.ive seen youtube vids from guys who made them but they were in different states and they said making them for personal use varies from state to state.

accropora:"BTW to those waiting for the BATF to process your paperwork,i read an article yesterday that said they are all caught up now and processing class 3 stuff on 5-7 days." I would love to see this article as of today form 3 transfers ( cans/machine guns) are running 3-6 weeks, form 4's are 7-9months? Desert Five O: I have been using liberty Kodiak TL on SW 2206, 15-22, Ruger 22/45- Rem subs have a "different" sound, Quieter?? I do not have the equipment or ears to document it, ( more diffuse), Remington golden about the same. CCI have been giving me first round pop, but temperature, dew point, barometer, location all affect the sound. Surprisingly win super-X hv are just slightly louder. All of the rounds are quieter out of the 15-22 since the bullet is slowing down while they are still increasing out of pistol barrels. Apparently 12-14" barrel is optimum for 22 lr velocity, based on testing done by measuring vel, cutting 1", repeat, cut 1", repeat, down to 1". I will look for a link to the article since this was pre internet. The Kodik TL is light, quite, easy to disassemble, life time warranty.
