I just picked up a .300 Blackout pistol with a 10" barrel. I'm rounding up all the components, dies, caliber conversion, etc. stuff I'll need to load up some 220 grain subsonics and was hoping some of you running a similar setup would have a suppressor recommendation. I'm looking at the Q Trash Panda, and the Q Thunder Chicken (where do they come up with these names?) so far. Does anyone have history with either of these? Pros? Cons? From what I've read, they are the quietest of the bunch and made specifically for the .300 Blackout.

I do already have a Rugged Obsidian 45. Would it be worthwhile to get a .30 end cap (I think it uses the same .528"x 28 direct mount), or is the larger channel through the baffles not conducive to good suppression?

Sorry about the noob questions, but I'm a bit of a Can Neophyte😁

I built a .300 Blackout pistol (PSA upper/lower with 8" bbl.) over the holidays, and purchased a Silencerco Omega 300 suppressor. I've found that I get some bullet tumbling when shooting Remington UMC subsonic 220 gr. ammo with that 8" bbl. and suppressor. I understand that tumbling bullets can cause problems for the suppressor, so I just bought some Hornady 190 gr. subsonic ammo to see if the lighter bullets will be faster and not tumble. I'll see if that resolves my tumbling issue, and I'll also shoot the 220 gr without the suppressor to see what happens. I built the .300 BLK for home and vehicle defense with suppressor and subsonic ammo so I need to find the proper match. With that said, the Omega 300 is a robust and very effective suppressor and the price is reasonable. Good luck!

I have a couple of Dead Air Sandman cans that I use from .223 to .308. The Sandman isn't the lightest but is a robust suppressor. In 300 BLK I've been pleased with them in both a bolt action and an AR, both 16" barrels.

I have 8 -1/2 inch barrel 300 blackout AR pistol and I researched all the silencers pretty thoroughly. I looked at decibel rating, weight, length, difficulty to clean, reviews, and price. I ended up getting a Yankee Hill 30 Resonator can for about 530 bucks and I'm extremely pleased with it.

I'd try the subsonics through the .45 cal can and see "hear" what you think before buying a new suppressor. I shoot a lot of .22 through a 9mm can and it's hollywood quiet.
I think I will try it out since I have everything I need in place to do so. I have a .45 end cap, but I don't think the 9mm would make that much difference anyway.

On a side note, I got my shipment of 1K Norma .300 blackout brass from Raven Rocks Precision and was getting ready to prime it and I see that they are pre-primed. I didn't think you were able ship loose pre-primed brass, but I'll take it! That saves me a bit of time and brings the cost of brass down a bit.
