Hypothetically, if you had an extra $1k to spend on a new or used firearm, what would it be? $1k is the max spending limit, with a downside of $50 +/-, meaning no purchasing two $500 guns, or one for $800 and pocketing the change. There's several items on my wish list in the $1k price range, so I'd drop the $ on either a NIB Colt New Agent in .45 ACP or Cimarron Schofield in .45 LC. Alternately, I'd go with another used 696 or 624 snub. I'd love to find a 3" 625, but asking prices have gotten significantly higher from what I've seen.

You've got your hypothetical $s ... what would you buy?

the best lever action 45-70 i could get for that dough or if fortune was smiling on me i would like a highwall in that caliber ,i cant decide bp or smokeless :) or maybe a m-57 ive wanted one since i was a teen

1,000 $ gun

Missed getting a used one for 500$ by about 1 minute. an Anschutz 22 lr target rifle. the seller came home 10 min early, I was there 5 min before he was supposed to be and the earlier bird got there and the gun 1 minute before me. so for me an Anschutz 22 with open sights.

A pair of 2 inch model 15's. I have 2 pr of stags to go on them. If I had them all put together, I'll howl at the moon.

The best early-production (first 20 years or so) Winchester 1892 or 1894 I could find for the money. Caliber wouldn't necessarily matter much, but I'd lean toward .25-20 or .32-20 for the 1892 and .25-35 for the 1894.

Probably a Savage Long Range Hunter 338LM...but then I'd need $1500 in accessories to make it mine.

Nothin'. Most of what I'm lusting after is quite a bit on the high side of a grand. Like a 6" K32, for example. I'd like to have one to go with my K22 and my K38, but not at the prices I've seen.
