new M&P22 questions

I bought a new m&p22 (30/11/13 test date) with some left over graduation money. I currently have a small stash of rem thunderbolts and some federal ultra match. Will the m&p cycle either of these or should I attempt to look around for some better ammo?

Ultra match... without a doubt. Thunderbolts should be just fine as well.

I throw junk HP Remington Golden Rounds through mine and have had only one failure and that was a dud round. I have shot the gun clean, dirty and as fast as I could pull the trigger. Most .22lr ammo will specify if it isn't good for semi-automatic as well.

The only really bad ammo for mine ha been anything from Aquila; FTF, double feeds, FTE.you name it. CCI, Fed and Rem have all done well.

Mine eats up just about anything. Unlike Par8head, mine works great with Aguila (mostly used the 1280 and 1750 fps stuff). The only FTF/FTEs I've had is with Winchester hollow points.

I fired 200 round of RWS 40 grain HP subsonic ammo (1000fps) through my M&P right out of the box with 0 problems.

thanks guys, I cleaned and lubed it with frog lube, now i just gotta go out and shoot the darn thing! Has anybody had any issues with loading the magazine into the gun? The mags seem to meet a little "catch" or hesitation before being fully seated. I looked into the mag well, and there doesnt seem to be anything that causing this issue.

I've shot Thunderbolts without any issues. Remington has been one of the brands I've been able to find, and it's worked well (several variants).

Only had mine a short time... the Blazers and American Eagle were the trouble brands for me. Every gun is different, it seems.

If your slide is closed your depressing the spring. Firm push should do it. Try with a open slide and slingshot the first round in. You'll have no resistance then. Careful, finger off the trigger and safety on till you are ready to fire.

Always be on the lookout for any ammo! I have not shot either the thunderbolts or ultra match in mine but anything over 1000 fps has done very well. The CCI Quiet's at 700 fps is the only ammo mine did not eject and had to be cycled by hand but always fired and are accurate.

I think it was just the angle in which i was inserting the mag maybe. who knows, the issue cleared it self now. k31scout, I've been on the lookout for ammo of all kind! Even pellet gun ammo has been out of stock in my town!! haha its really sad in the southern part of ms
