Any Jim Croce listeners on this forum?

I'm setting here listening to his Photographs and Memories- His Greatest Hits album and just got to wondering. Great songs!

My wife and I used to gas up our old '87 Toyota 4wd truck, get some snacks and drinks and her favorite Jim Croce cassette. She'd load up her 4" 66-3 and I'd have my snubby on my belt. We'd pick an old mountain road and just start exploring. I'd just be a nice peaceful day in the mountains.
Our newer 4wd Tacoma has a cd player and I'm hoping to do it again one day when things calm down a little.

Wow, glad ya warned me. I was planning on stuffing the tape in that little slot with a butter knife. Maybe I'll just get the CD instead.

Interesting thread timing. I actually just dug out some of his stuff last night. I have almost all his original releases on vinyl, including an early album hi did as a duet with his wife.

Yeah, used to like a lot of his stuff, the funny ones ("...and you don't mess around with Jim") and the more serious ones. Two favorites in the latter category were "I've Got A Name" and "It Doesn't Have To Be That Way".

Terrible shame he was killed so young.

I have an eight track tape player that still works. Have several tapes and one is Jim Croce. Play it a lot.

With the exception of Doris' husband
