When I'm faced with the old "what powder should I use in my ___", I always go to my reloading manuals. In each manual there is a "Powder Chapter" and most manuals give a description and common use and what round the powder is designed to be used in. Then I go to the data section and review the load data for the bullet I'm gonna use and make a list of the top three powders for my specific use...

One powder only? not in my reloading room...

Plus I don't like polls ;)

My preference is W231 (I know, I'm an old fashioned guy). I've been lucky to keep enough in stock. Last month I was getting low and couldn't find any so I bought 8# of Titegroup. A week later I found 231 and bought some of that too. I'm going to work up some loads using Titegroup as a backup.

Other - Ramshot Silhouette. Powder Valley had some the other day too! Low flash, great performer, meters perfect!

I've got some accurate #2 and #5 sitting around, waiting use, but when I started reloading pistol I started with Titegroup for 9mm. So many people use Titegroup there is no shortage of real world load data in forums. The 124g FMJ 4g load has been my standard since then for IDPA or USPSA. I would still like to try Vihtavuori but it has the handicap of being imported and probably the hardest to get (and more expensive). One of these days I'll have to try W231 also.

None of the above. Power Pistol, Silhouette, and WSF--in that order.
Certainly NOT TiteGroup or Clays.
AA2 can give good accuracy for low-velocity target loads, but Power Pistol stills shines even there.

I used to use Bluedot and the loads were really hot.

Unique was good and I would use it with the 147 grain bullets.

Now I use nothing but Bullseye. Leaving the Uniflow set to 4.5 grains I can load 115/124 grain bullets anytime I need too.

I know this load is safe and will function in all my 9MM.

The cases are easier to resize than factory loads so I know that this load is at a safe power level.

BTW no one has mentioned IMR's SR 7625 as a pistol powder. This powder meters similar to BE, and burns cleaner than Unique.

There is loads of data for it as well.

I ordered 8 pounds from Powder Valley but it is currently out of stock.
Keep checking and you may find some locally.

I have used SR 7625 before and I really like how it performs.

I have loaded and shot up a ton of 9mm using 4756.
With the right bullet (never heavier than 124 gr) it has been reliable and gives acceptable accuracy.
I also use it in 20 ga.

I have used AA#2 and AA#5 for my 9mm. I have also used AA#7 I think that is to hot for me. I think Titegroup is dirty and easy to overcharge a case.

For jacketed bullets, Universal. For lead / moly coated lead, WST.

IMO, Universal is a great powder to start with for 9mm, since it's low density and depending on the bullet weight being used, a double charge is either really obvious or really messy (powder overflowing the case).

Someone (me) did recommend SR 7625 - see my #17 post :)
