Another Happy Ending

Good story. Now let's hope the man learns to keep his weapon "loaded" before he needs it again.

I'm willing to say that in his mind taking the time to load it worked out fine and sees no need to change.

The NRA provided a statistic year's ago so I hope I can represent it accurately.

98% of confrontations with bad guys are ended when the victim presents a firearm, no shots fired. I think that is what happened in this story. So let's count it as a victory for the good guys rather than nit-picking what we think the victim did incorrectly.

+1 The guy did just fine.

Good for the media!

Kudos also to the media who made the story public. I know that many CC permit holders successfully thwart crimes but most are not reported. That hinders getting the important message out that armed good guys are a real benefit to community safety.

It was a successful outcome and that is what counts.

Stay safe guys.

I agree in his mind but the carjacker wasn't armed as per the news story. this situation could have had a very unhappy ending if the CJ had been armed and decided to shoot when he saw the GG's firearm. I'll keep mine chambered and so I just have to pull the trigger to end a deadly threat, time to me is valuable, but everything worked out great for him, as he didn't have to use his weapon.

There are many of us (pastors) who CC...bad guys just never know what they might find when they attempt an attack on a stranger. Especially if that stranger is a pastor... :D

And you never know when some idiot will decide a church is a soft target.

He did just fine. He may also not be an experienced gun owner and is concerned about an AD, especially with a family. The main thing is he had the gun and used it to prevent further violence. And yes, stories like this need greater publicity.

Amen brother!! There are many bad guys who see churches as an easy target, and unfortunately in most cases that's true. However, there are many churches across our great nation that are anything but soft targets. On any given Sunday morning there are 1-3 CC worshipers in my congregation, not counting me. A BG would be more than just a little shocked if they tried something...in fact, this is what they would look like -->>
