Is it easy to convert promag 10rd m&p 9mm mags to accept 17rds? If so, can you provide how to do it? I found one on ebay for $40.

Thanks

Where are you located? To do so in a restricted state is a felony. If you are not, simply buy 17 round mags.

If it is legal to do, often the 10 round versions of standard capacity magazines are semi- or permanently altered (depressions in the metal body, non-removable bases, etc.) to make them difficult to convert. Probably easier to buy standard magazines if you can.

The only good use I've found for Promags is as a doorstop;), There are a couple of threads in this section about the availability of S&W factory 17 round mags for less than the $40.00 on Ebay ($33. at Midway and $31 at G&R M&P 9mm 17rd Magazine at G and R Tactical) the availability is spotty so you have to do some looking but they are out there. BTW $40 for a Promag is ridiculous, you can get them from a lot of places in the $20's, I wouldn't trust them but they might work for you.

The promag limits cap by using a special spring. I suppose you only need a standard spring as long as it fits in the follower.

I recall seeing a thread where someone took their's apart and compared to a S&W mag.
