the direction of my collection, family photo

You don't need anymore you have your share. Nice photo's and maybe a small obsession. But a good one! Happy new year.

Bob

Lol...
If this isn't a case of the "pot calling the kettle black". Then I don't know whats one is...lol
I took the day off and got deep into the safe.
Thanks bud and happy new year back at ya

That's one tight knit "Family" you have there!

Nice collection of Revolvers... Thanks for taking the time to post them up so we can all enjoy!

Must have took a bit of time to string all those babies up. Nice group.

KLYED,
Thank you, it was a royal pain. Don't think I'll try that again, I wanted to get another shot of the non smith 44's but didn't bother, due to a few tense moments. There's a lot to be said for the "wheel style" photos... stay warm buddy.

Very nice collection.....Elmer is smiling

Please excuse my ignorance on them but aren't there also some 3" ones ?

That's quite a complement, thanks Paul.

Yes there are some 3" guns also a 12"(I think), 2 5/8" and Drew has a pair of fixed sited pre lock 2 7/8"?( love to see them again), not sure about any more than that. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can stop in and plumb me up.

I've got 4",5",6",6 1/2",7 1/2" and 8 3/8". I'd really like a 3" and one of the super long pc guns. I also need to find a dash 2E, that seems to be a rare bird these days. Once I've got that -2E, I'm not sure what direction I'll head.

Chris

Do you remember what started you down the .44 Magnum path? Seeing your nice accumulation got the wheels turning. I used to be quite anti-.44 Mag. Now it seems to be the most common caliber of all my "few" S&Ws. Just how that happened is a minor mystery!

Looking at your photos, it seems you might go searching for one of the "green" 629s after you find a -2E:

Again, a kind thank you for recognizing my Spanish translation work on another thread. What a magnificent collection. Wish I could do the same for my J-frame assemblage...but they're all in my pockets!

No problem,

I saw your post in German the other day, as well.(it blew me away too)
I have a hard time typing in English.
So your skills are fascinating to me.
I think its great that we have such helpful members on the forum, and that's what keeps me here.

Thank you

You can't feed a family that large! Better send some to foster homes.

I'll take in a couple. The least I can do for a fellow forum member.

Now that you've asked, I'm not sure about the answer. But it probably revolves around trying to simplify things at my loading bench. Every time one of the big bore target guns was sold one or more 44, showed up(I guess).
Anyway, the black pc gun has grown on me and now, I wouldn't mind a green one at all.
What model and dash number is that?

That`s a great collection and while I thank you for sharing it , I wonder is it wise to show your treasures to the world?

Very nice collection of 44's, I like!

I grew up reading Elmer Keith and as a result have owned a lot of Smith & Wesson 44's over the years, I currently own several but you've got me beat by a mile. I am not a serious collector and care little about boxes and paperwork, more of an accumulator and shooter.

Which one is your favorite? For me it's the 629 Mountain Gun, or more specifically my 629-2 Mountain Revolver.

Saint Elmer would definitely approve of your collection.
