What is a Good IWB Holster for CC of M&P?

I kind of like the looks of the Galco King Tuk for an IWB holster but am open to any advice. This will be my first Concealed Carry. I'm about 5'11" but weigh 250.
Not that I have much use for 'em any more but I have some pretty good sized "love handles":o. Seriously though, does my build kind of dictate what type of holster or CC style I should use?

I've got a King Tuk. Not the most comfortable IWB in my opinion. My preference leans to OWB with a FS M&P though. I find the OWB more comfortable and easier to dress around. We're same height, but I'm under 195.

I will suggest The Holster Works in Tempe Az. Corey made an IWB for me that has J hooks to stay on my belt. I am about 6 ft and weigh about 210. The holster stays in place and the pistol M&P 45 comes out easy when I want it to. My handles also keep it in place, along with the adjustable tension screws.

I use 2 IWB holsters. One is the Galco Tuck N Go and the other is the Alien Gear Holster. I prefer the Alien Gear. It spreads out the weight of my M&P 9C.Very comfortable. The T N G holster is easier to put on but not a comfortable. I liked the price of the Alien Gear (about half the price of other hybrid Kydex/Leather holsters and they have a fantastic warranty and you can order additional Kydex portion for a different gun and pay about $13 and it will fit on the leather portion. Great deal.
 
I have Crossbreed SuperTuck for my Shield. For my M&P9c I have a holster that people may not have heard a lot about. It's a LaTour Custom Holster. Very excellent quality in my opinion. Considering one for my Shield as well.

I bought a foxx super tuck holster about 2 years ago, and have been real happy with it, just bought a second for a different pistol too. Think total from foxx was $39. Good quality and lifetime warranty.
 
First: Put as much effort into finding a good belt as you do a holster. A belt is the foundation of a secure and comfortable carry.

As for holster; Your shape will dictate that appendix carry most likely won't be the best option. Other than that, it's just finding what you prefer. And that is going to (unfortunately) take some time and money. There are darn few that carry concealed that haven't tried at least half a dozen options.

I think that comp-tac makes good quality holsters, I own 3 and am pleased with them all. Their infidel holster is a great, great place to start. Has lots of different options to attach (belt clip, j-hook, etc) so you have a good chance of finding a way to carry that you like spending money once on the holster, and possibly a little bit more for a different belt attachment.

You'll get plenty of recommendations and have a ton of options to sort through. Good luck!
 
I carry a King Tuk. After hip replacement surgery, I don't have any meat over the bones anymore. The large leather backing prevents the gun from becoming uncomfortable in just a few minutes like it does in minimalist holsters.
 
I'm a big fan of the PJ Holsters IWB - I've been carrying my 40c in one daily, and I have one on order for my Shield.
 
Any quality leather IWB or hybrid kydex IWB work very well. If you want to spread the weight more evenly over the beltline and have a real stable rig, choose one with 2 anchor points instead of 1.

for $36 and change you cant beat aliengear. old faithful is similar but you have to build your own holster, they send you a bag of parts and you assemble for $39.99 and shipping. i also own a foxx and AG blows it out of the water.

the triple warranty is amazing as well. change carry gun? send old kyudex shell in and get one for your new gun. easy peasy.

Wow, that AlienGear is looking pretty impressive for the price. I tried an Old Faithful but found the leather way too soft, making it impossible to tighten the tension on the Kydex shell. Another good company selling this type of holster is White Hat, really good folks to deal with. I usually prefer all leather or all Kydex (handmade myself) but at $30 plus shipping it's worth it to save time. It usually takes me a couple of hours in the shop to finish a kydex IWB for myself, the AlienGear rig is cheaper factoring in the time saved and materials. If you like carrying full-sized duty handguns IWB, Nick Matthews in Texas makes an awesome leather rig with an extreme forward cant which hides the large grip of full-sized handguns very nicely.
