New Bodyguard 380 in stock

On a whim I checked Davidsons (GOG) this am and they had one...so I snagged it. About $335ish plus tax and $22 fee.
 
Tempted to buy from quan or even pay the $319 but I can also wait and make sure they're trouble free, which I expect they will be and get the LE price of $275
 
Good evening, all:

I bought a S&W .380 Bodyguard last June 2013. The price was ok, trigger pull was a bit heavy, but it handles well, and has a very manageable recoil. Unlike most S&W pistols, it came with only one magazine. I asked the dealer to order two additional mags, but so far, no joy. I e-mailed the S&W website, and they claim they're way behind on production. I've been a S&W fan for over 40 years now, and I've never had this sort of situation arise. I own 11 S&W pistols, and I explained to the customer service rep I communicated with that while I didn't expect to get into an extended gunfight, I always like to have two spares. I'm really disappointed in the S&W folks in this transaction, and while the little gun is a fine solution to concealment in virtually any kind of clothing, I'm thinking this may be the last S&W I'll buy. Thoughts?

I put 100 rounds through my "old" BG380 today and forgot how much fun it is to shoot....granted the trigger takes some getting used to but still fun and accurate
 
I'm not sure why you're putting off S&W because of a magazine shortage. Right now there are virtually zero 5rd. 45acp mags online for the XDS, but I still have one on the way.

Try eBay or do a Google search. Seems plenty of factory mags on eBay for sure: Bodyguard 380 magazine | eBay
 
It looks like kygunco has 'em in stock. The Kentucky Gun Co.-Mobile. I have the old version but have have been thinking about adding one to my m&p collection/addiction. Wife already gave me the ok but still on the fence due to price and availability of 380 ammo.
 
Picked one up today at my LGS. Now looking for a holster. LGS didn't have anything for the M&P version or the standard laser equipped version in stock. Anyone know how holster fitment should be for this one? I'm thinking any leather (non-molded) holster for the standard BG should fit fine but on a kydex holster I would probably have to wait a bit to find one specifically for the M&P version? Thoughts?
 
You looking to carry IWB? I carried the original BG 380 in an uncle mikes pocket holster and loved it. Can't remember what size it was, the gun store took one out of the packaging and we test fitted it.

I just purchased a new Bodyguard 380 w/laser for $379. I called 5 gunshops in Michigan and the highest price was $420. March 14,2014.

Yes IWB preferably Kydex. I usually prefer leather for most of my guns but I feel a Kydex setup would be best for this one. Problem is of course that Kydex is usually very form fitted so seems like one for a BG w/laser wouldn't fit correctly.

Also for reference I paid $325 for mine NIB.
 
I looked at one of these this afternoon and like it. I had an earlier BG380 the roll pins kept coming out so I got rid of it. This new version without the laser is more streamlined and I'm sure by now they have all the bugs worked out.

I'm hoping so. I'm moving from a KelTec P3AT to this BG. I had considered the Ruger LCR but the BG felt much more comfortable to carry. Hopefully it will be trouble free.
 
Ordered up a Desantis 111NAU7Z0 hybrid IWB/pocket holster for test fitting. It's designed for a laser equipped BG but I think it might work well on the M&P too.

The lcp desantis nemesis worked for m&p .380. Keep mine in my pocket all the time except at work. Shot 125 rounds so far. I've only had one failure to feed and I think that was the particular round. It wouldnt load the second time either and the third time it did with me sling shotting it hard. All hollow points (golden sabers and hpr hornady loads) (75 round total) shot without a hiccup. Hand was a little sore the next day but nothing more than my old second gen lcp.

I've even carried it iwb without any troubles either most of the time iwb with a spare mag in my right front pocket.
