I'm sure I know the answer I am bound to get on this forum, but I am leaning one way already. I need a friendly push to help me off of the ledge...so to speak.

I am not independently wealthy and only have so much spendable income which is why I am seeking help with a tough decision. I am taking a "required" family vacation in 3 weeks and need to free up some travel money. So I need to sell one of three handguns I think I am willing to part with...they are listed below

1) CZ 75B Single Action Only that is very clean with 4 mags.
2) S&W 38-1 that has little to no wear with the original magna grips but has a "Century International" importation mark. Gun was sold to China, never shot, shipped back to US and bought by a PD then surplused.
3) S&W 19-6 w/ 2 1/2" barrel that is super clean w/ original grips but no box.

I have a 2 1/2" 66 that is my keeper which is why the 19 is even being considered. I do not have another S&W J frame wheelie in 38 spl or a full-size CZ 75. Additionaly, the 75 in SAO is not as common and harder to come by. So I can't help but think that the 19 is pretty much the same as my 66 but is in much better shape, harder to keep clean, and therefore I am less likely to get it out of the safe to shoot it.

Any honest input on my decision is greatly appreciated. See pic's below:ImageUploadedByTapatalk1401825408.594333.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1401825427.725150.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1401825456.251652.jpg

Envy, ya got nothing but three hard choices. As you are going to keep your M - 66, I would sell the M-19 as it should have the highest sale value. Just remember you may not have an easy time replacing it at a price you would be willing to pay.

Honestly Bear that's the one thing that is eating at me. Besides the fact that I love K frame snubbies! Seems like I can find the CZ or 38-1 for money I am willing to pay...some time in the future, but every "clean" 19 is going for $600 or more!

Tough choice for sure. I'd probably lean towards selling the CZ as its a replaceable item if you should ever desire to do so. I'd be keeping that M19 for sure, but that just my 2 cents.

i'd have to ask myself....

I'd have to ask myself two questions:

If someone took one of your guns right now, which one would you miss the most?

If I plan to replace it someday, which will be easier to find?

Reason says to sell the 19, but I wouldn't want to sell the 19.

That's a really tough choice. I'd much rather buy guns than sell guns.

If it helps at all, the 19 would sell very fast, (if you decide to sell it PLEASE PM me first!!), the CZ not so much. As the others have pointed out the other two are easier to replace. Tough call

Just wondering how much travel money you need... can you just pawn to a friend? I don't really don't see enough $$$ here for a 3 week vacation if you sold all of them - and then they are gone... But as to your question - dump the CZ.

I would consider what one would be the hardest to replace. I think that the M19 would be the last one on the list to go.

Selling a gun to have a little pocket change on a vacation is a rather poor move all the way round. But that is just my opinion, and it is worth exactly how much you paid for it. To answer your question... If I had to sell any of the 3 guns listed and I already owned a model 66 I would sell the 66. lol (Unless it happened to be a no dash or -1) I personally prefer blued guns and also the 66s are really hot items now so I might actually make a little money on the sale. Either way if you have a little time it will be worth your while to list any gun on gunbroker simply because you will get the most for it.

Keep the 19.

I'd dump the J-Frame.

The 19 will to EVERYTHING the J-Frame will do.

The Auto will give you high capacity. Smith Revolvers are great, we love them, but you have to have a high-Cap Auto as a go to War gun with a Magnum as a backup.

I don't blame you for wanting that 19, it is in very nice condition.

Crummy situation though.

Very true regarding what a M-19 will do when compared to a J-frame, except with respect to concealability. More importantly your comment about "a go to War gun" is partly true too. I have a Block (G19) so I wouldn't be without a high-cap 9mm. Very good points as you can see which is making my choice difficult.
!

Do you carry? If so what? A J frame or a semi? If I were in your shoes I'd sell the CZ and the 19. The CZ in SA is more of a gimmick. It needs better safety levers and the 19 will bring more $ then the J frame. Besides you have a 66 in the same config.

Buy, sell, trade, do whatever. It's just a gun despite some people putting them up on some holy pedestal to stare in awe at. It's just a gun.
