Since S&W hasn't made one yet. I bought a 9mm Pit Bull Charter Arms Rimless Revolver which darn near meets all the criteria, but in a "6" shot 22 oz. stainless steel J-frame sized package.

The recoil of the 940 is snappy and a lightweight may be a bit much. If the 940 is re-introduced I would like to see it with the 547 type extractor.

I spent over a year trying to locate one near by. I called Charter Arms, and of all people, Nick Ecker, the owner of Charter Arms, answered the phone.

He told me to have my dealer contact his distributor and if they couldn't find one in the system to contact him directly via email. They did and my 9mm CARR was delivered in about 10 days. And yes, I like it a lot.

It's actually a tiny bit bigger than the S&W J frame. It has a 6 shot cylinder & is about the size of the now defunct Colt D framed Detective Special/Cobra/Agent series.

At 15 yards off hand it shoots into 2 1/2 - 3"'s. Due to it's design & grips it's fairly comfortable to shoot. Feels like a steel K-frame firing +P's.
