Good advice from a lot of folks with the life experience to back it up, Hunter8282.

When you think about the world as having been a flawed, screwed up place ever since original sin came into it, then somehow it's easier to accept.

We do the best we can while we're here, and there's a better day -- an eternity in fact -- ahead.

Be of good spirit. He is in control. :)

Stop watching the news, yes even FOX..Sounds harsh but believe me I am closing in on 76.....I hate what I'm seeing, I'm not to happy with our government right now. I watch and I think to myself, we are Americans the greatest experiment in history...Surely God doesn't want this experiment to fail.....Does it completely work of course not but it makes me feel better.....Surely in this great country somebody will step up and say enough is enough.....Probably didn't help you but it helped me saying it....

A nice long walk in the mountains usually does it for me.
Wait a minute, I'm stuck on the sofa with a swollen knee on my good leg and my right leg has degenerative peripheral neuropathy and doesn't work right.
Consarnit, dagnabbit now I'm starting to feel down.

Not really, I know my knee'll get better and I have a wonderful wife that helps me.

"Our present society has declined morally to the point it will cause the world, as we know it, to come to an end soon".

Stated hundreds of years ago by Socrates or Aristotle or (?). Someone here will know the correct reference and make it correct(I don't). :)

It ain't over till it's over............

With all that's going on in the world, I've really been in the dumper this week. :(

It's sad that I am 38 and all I can seem to think about is buying more guns and more ammo for coming collapse. Between race riots, ISIS, illegal immigration, our own gov't, and the list goes on and on, I just don't see a light at the end of the tunnel.

What to do.

Sorry for the vent...

STOP watching/listening to the news media....its just a big drama show. CONTINUE to buy guns and ammo....for your personal pleasure.... live laugh and love....don't worry about the crazies running around backward into each other.....that circus aint never gonna stop...........

As others have said, turn off the TV, as Caj said, drink heavily(I'm currently taking his advice) and just listen to the voices in your head, as they are HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY.........Well, most of them. There's one that's kinda irritating at the moment

Seriously, enjoy today as no one has promised you tomorrow. My wife and I both being Cancer survivors decided not to sweat the small stuff and there's a lot of small stuff out there!

Oh, and don't forget to Lock and Load just in case :)

Lighten up on yourself. When I was young I didn't think I would make it to 30, I was a rather rowdy individual. Now I'm 69+ and wondering what I can get into tomorrow. Face it, people have always been crazy and doing crazy things it's just that there are a lot more people now than there used to be so we hear more about it.

Remember, mankind has never changed. He's basically evil and always will be. He's no worse now that he ever was, but with modern media, you just know more about it. There's always been tyrants, thieves, molesters, abusers, hate mongers, and mass murderers. It's just that now there's almost 8 billion people, and there's media everywhere. If that's where you tend to focus, that's going to get you down. Stop looking at the thorns and focus on the roses. But, despite our nature, there are more of us that are decent and somewhat good, than evil. Interact with a child, play with a dog, talk to an old friend that means a lot to you. Think how you can make someone's day a little better. It may not be much, but that can make your world a little better, too.

2 quotes I keep in my wallet:

"The web of our life is of a mingled yarn, good and ill together."
William Shakespeare

"If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world."
C.S. Lewis

You want depressing? I just finished reading about the Clearances in Scotland. The land owners who did that were worse than the 18th century French.

Oh, and try Bernard Cornwells Grail Quest series. Ugly times in human history there....
