Shame on CNN

I remember a couple decades ago CNN had some real reporting going on. All the foolishness and goat rope was mostly on other networks. They have succumbed.

It's disgusting the spin they put on things. At least it has those of us that know better searching for the facts and truth.

On patrol at 2am I stopped a car for driving without headlights.
As I approached the driver stepped out of the car and went for something in the side compartment. I grabbed his hand and the fight was on for the gun. He dropped it and we fought in the street and then my backup arrived. Then we both fought him in the street, front lawns, driveway, and thru the hedges. We couldn't get the cuffs on him. He was high on something and invincible. My backup pulled out a S&W Model 10 heavy barrel and laid it upside his head. That slowed him down enough to cuff him. We all went to the hospital to be checked out and the suspect was jailed. The Model 10 had the yoke tweaked and the ejector rod bent.

The morning headlines of our liberal newspaper read "Local police "Pistol Whip" suspect into submission

Thank you X Ring for what you do and showing restraint in a situation that was extremely dangerous.

The news media is in the business of sensationalism not journalism.

I quit watching the "lame stream media" years ago because all it does is raise my blood pressure.

The idiots.....
That's a revolver, not a pistol. :D

It was the same on the local news outlets, too. KMOV had a "citizen" complaining about "how da po lese just come into our hoods and shoot black youth down fo' no reason". This was much before the talking heads mentioned that he pulled a gun and fired at the Officer.

They are intentionally inciting the mob to violence. This weekend is supposed to be a big protest weekend for the "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" crowd, and their drawing in people from all over. Should be interesting the next couple of days.

If it Bleeds, It Leads.

You may recall in the earlier Ferguson MO shooting, the emphasis was on the word, "unarmed," as in "unarmed teenager." No where was it said that an adversary need not necessarily be armed with a weapon in order to justify deadly force. You may use deadly force to prevent serious injury such as broken bones or protracted impairment of health. Or, your adversary's actions caused you to fear suffering such injuries.

The public was led to believe that as the teen was unarmed, the shooting was automatically not justified.

That would have been a justified shooting. While Bill Jordan's statement was not subtle and would upset the handwringers, it was true: you can hit someone too hard, but you can't shoot them too much.

CNN ran this byline all day today:

"Black teenager fatally shot in head by police."

Of course, nothing in that byline says anything about the cop being shot at 3 times and firing in self defense. Shame on CNN for running a headline that it darn well knows could incite a riot. But I guess that's one way to get some sensational burning and looting footage.

Our media is becoming more and more like Hollywood,
everything is ''based on a true story''. If a story omits
a few little facts, it's OK, as long as it fits an agenda.

Sip, it's a "headline" not a "byline." Byline is what shows the name of the person who wrote the piece, who very seldom is the same one who writes the headline.

Not taking issue with what you wrote; just clarifying. (I'm sure you know the difference, and it was just a slip.)

Translation: "YOU CAN'T SHOOT AT ME BUT I CAN SHOOT AT YOU"
