Loose Flash Suppressor

Hi All:

After every few rounds I find the flash suppressor to be loose. No matter how tightly I turn it back, it soon becomes loose again. I am thinking of Locktight Blue, but do not know if the heat will make that ineffective. Any one else have this issue?

Is there a missing lock washer of some sort?
Check the specifications for parts and see if it is listed ?
What make and model is it on?

You need to properly tighten it by using the proper tools. Tacticool22 sells the barrel clamp to use. If you do not use it or do not clamp the barrel when tightening the fs, you will cause damage to the bolt rails.and possibly the upper receiver.

Put some clear nail polish on the threads when you put it back on. Same idea as Locktite, cheaper and easier to remove if you need to. That's what I did and even with my QD suppressor going on and off it is still tight a year later.

Crush washers are made to be used once, yours has not had sufficient torque to crush it or it already gave it's all..buy a new one they are cheap.

I only hand tighten mine with anti seize on the threads and it never comes loose from firing. No washer. I do this to make switching between it and the silencer a tool less process.

But thread locker should work just fine with the low temp of 22lr.

I use a wave washer.It seems to keep it tight.

Anti seize gets a lot of use on my guns, from guard screws, to ring screws, to the gas cylinder lock on my M1. I've been told that it works because it lubes the threads and allows them to be over tightened, even if you use a torque wrench. Whatever the reason is, I've never twisted off a screw head tightening or untightening a screw. That's something I can't say for my friends that use thread locker.
