There is another sick bug going on around here and is a nasty one. I was riding the bus yesterday and as it never fails--some inconsiderate dolt sat on the bus--was constanty spreading his disease to everyone on board. The guy never covered his mouth either. Well, lo and behold, I now have what he spread--and probably 500 others.

I hope this one doesnt last 4-6 weeks like the last? There is a gun show later this month and im going. Just found out everyne in one of my Nephews family--has the bug including his brand new--daughter born on New Years.

Anyway, I hope none of you all are going through this?

How apropos, I'm sitting in the pediatrician's office with my 15 year old daughter who has an ear infection.

Get well soon Ringo.

Some-thing's going 'round here.

My throat was on fire, nose running or clogged - either way it wouldn't let me sleep.

Did some zinc lozenges and melts, seems to have kicked it to the curb.

Still a bit wiped out, but better.

Heal up out there!

My girlfriend and I caught the stomach flu in Gettysburg, PA this past weekend. She primarily just had drowsiness, stomach cramps, and bad headaches. I had VERY bad "stomach problems" (lots of the "d-word"...like 20-30 times per day for the first day, then 10-20 times the second day, and slowly got better), but also a mild fever, drowsiness, sore body, etc. Also I got the flu shot and she didn't.

My kids have been sick for two weeks, daughter brought it back from middle school. Now whole school is sick. 1/4 of the kids are missing any day this week. My fever broke last Friday after a week. I would still likely be sick without flu shot.

My Grand Daughter just got over a bout with something. Took her to the doctor and he thought it was a bad sinus problem. She had a hell of a cough that sounded like a small dog barking for about 2 weeks. She had a pretty high temperature there at the last of it she got to 104.2 and scared the daylights out of Grandpo and Mimi. She is OK now but really had us worried. Ibuprofen really knocked that temp. She was given some kind of antibiotic. I thought sinus problems would be more bacterial type of infection, but I'm not a doctor. I just pay them large amounts of $$. Get well soon and take care of yourself.
peace

You lucky.....

Speaking of the D--word, after 3 full days of it. I passed out the 3rd night wife could not get me up next thing I know is 2 para medics putting me in the ambulance. 3 days of IV's and they let me go home.

That happened to me. You are lucky if your kidney's didn't fail. Mine did. The guy came in to tell me my kidneys failed and I told him thanks for telling me. He said, "YOUR KIDNEYS FAILED". I said, "Yes, I understand, thanks for telling me." He got really agitated and I told him that I understood that it was terrible, but I was glad to be alive. There wasn't any use crying over it. Anyway, I was lucky and over time much of my kidney function have returned. I must have gotten the fluids just in time.

Some ugly creeping crud hit Vegas in the run up to Christmas. Nailed our front office lady for two weeks, and she is normally very healthy. One of the local news anchors said her kid came home with a fever on 19 December and it clobbered the whole family in no time. She was finally back on TV this week and is still on antibiotics.

I've had two bouts over the holiday period where my throat got a little irritated and my sinuses gave me grief. Vitamin C, sleep, saline nasal spray and hot showers seemed to help shrug it off, but I can't help feeling I'm on borrowed time.

I believe, specifically during winter months, that riding on any mass transportation is an invitation to contract anything that's going around. Also, if you have school age children in your family you can expect to catch everything there as well. You're only defense is to get the flu shot and do all the personal hygiene things like washing hands etc. Still, the nasty viruses slip in and make you miserable for a couple weeks a year. And, the older you are, the more these things can affect you. It's just that time of year.
