New Unfired Model 19 2 1/2" No Box

Mickey D's nickel 19 with those grips is just too beautiful as photographed.

That photo doesn't help my recalling that I passed on a pristine 2.5" nickeled 19 with factory stag grips for $400 several years ago. But, at the same gun show I had already purchased a pristine blue 2.5 inch 19 and a solid 4 inch pencil barrel Model 10. sigh ... "would a should a could a" but still would have had to face the wife back at the house! : /

No boxes involved but boxes don't float my boat.

Be careful, it is difficult to stop at one M19.

I resemble that statement.

I got a chance to check it again, and it's a 19-3.

I would offer up to $650 for a face-to-face purchase. Saves any taxes, shipping, transfer cost AND affords you the opportunity to perform a visual and complete mechanical function test prior to laying the money down.

At this price, it's not a "steal deal" but you could certainly get your money back if you wanted to sell it in the near term.

Really? in spite of not mentioning the variant you would pass up a unfired M19-? I gather you haven't looked to long. I don't understand the box and docs as being the be all to end all but I guess if you are just going to put it in a locker for the sake of checking it off your must have list in perfect collectible condition it makes sense. I just can't relate as hard as I try, I really can't.

Wow, two months later and that gun is stilll there? Would've gone in 6 minutes in California....and that's with a slow internet connection :(

Yes, still available as of yesterday. However, it's owned by a private individual although he has had it for sale on a table he has at the local gun show. It looks as good as it gets. That's a lot of money in this part of Florida for what some would consider an old fashioned revolver. They don't make them like that anymore.

I have an opportunity to buy a new unfired Model 19 2 1/2" pinned barrel. I might have already bought it, but there's no box.

Me thinks something smells. A unfired 19-3 2 1/2" that hasn't sold at Florida gun shows for two months. Are you sure it isn't an unfired re-blued?

Not that I know of. He's a collector, and I consider him an honest person. I have a Colt Python 6" that I had the Colt Custom Gun Shop re-blue a number of years ago, and honestly if I didn't know it was re-blued I couldn't tell it. If the 19 is re-blued it's one hell of a nice job. I don't believe it is, however. I'm in the Panhandle, and it's not like central or south Florida as far as demand goes.

About six years ago I paid $550 for a mint blue no-box 2.5" 19-3. I've watched dozens post and sell on GB since then in all conditions and a wide price range. Nothing has ever made me regret buying it. If I didn't have one, I wouldn't mind paying $650-$700 for one that's truly mint. Life is too short, just buy the gun.

They are so few and far between here I eould pay more than that in a second.
