On bachelorhood

Same question for you - 2 wheels or 4?

Must have been a local thing, because my buddies wife got a wall full of trophies with her "gallant Valiant" packing a 273 & four speed. :D

4 wheels. My one and only experience operating on 2 wheels did not end well. Love to ride with someone tho as long as it isn't a crotch rocket.

"Shooting mice in the living room, because the landlord said to."

I LOVE IT, GATOR!!!!! I only ever shot mice in my garage, but I slew a bunch of them out there.

There was the time this young lady was coming to my apartment for the very first time. It was a casual visit in the middle of the afternoon - not after a date or anything. Like most of us in our bachelorhood, I had very casual habits when it came to washing dishes. Since I had a large number of pots and pans I'd just reach in the cabinet and get a new one when I needed it and wouldn't wash dishes until I ran out.

When I learned that the aforementioned young lady was on her way over I decided to tidy up a bit. That included washing a sink full of dirty dishes. One of the sauce pans that had been in the sink for over a week had the remains of a can of ranch style beans in the bottom, with a nice protective crust formed over the top. Just about 15 minutes before the young lady arrived I broke the seal on that crust......... and released into the apartment an overwhelming stench like a decomposing corpse. When she arrived I had a bandana saturated in Old Spice tied around my lower face, the front door and all the windows standing open, and I had fans in two windows blowing air out of the apartment. She still gagged.

Epilogue: The young lady and I celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary last year.

obviously she was not a frilly little bundle of fluff.... :D

Well.....today she ran over the same water meter she ran over last year with the %^&$# lawnmower  Same result:mad: Hope that new blades will do it and I don't have to pay for another $230 rebuild of a bent shaft
At least she got the back yard first :D

You obviously missed the hint to move the water meter.:D

Thanks! 1/4 miler, 2 wheels or 4? Did my fair share years ago but sadly back in the dark ages females weren't allowed to run at any of the local tracks.

4 Wheels, 1980 GMC Caballero, 350/350 about 375 horse. Ladies race all the time now and give us guys a run for the money. I just bought a 1968 ElCamino from my son, he and I built it for his first racer. 468 hp at the rear wheels, dyno slip to prove it, I'm going to have some more fun. Never grow up when it comes to having fun in life. I always put family first so this has come later in life. What the hell, I plan to live to be 90 and race till I can't qualify anymore. I never got lucky enough to find a lady who likes guns, shooting, hunting and fishing as much as I do. I'm 65 and going elk hunting next fall with my brothers again. You're only as old as you feel! That being said, sometimes I feel like I'm 55. Hang in there girl, you're probably the one I always looked for and never found!

Back in the day I had a '57 Vette 265 block bored to 301, built by a couple of dirt track racers/mechanics. Solid lifters, can't remember the exact cam & head specs, T-10 Borg Warner, Carter 4 barrel. Big problem was rear end gear ratio, 4.56 or 4.11 couldn't keep the car heading straight so probably settled on 3.55.

Later had a '68 Dodge R/T 440 magnum and lots of other interesting cars.

Will be getting my latest toy next month, 1974 MG Midget

Yep, where you been all my life? ;) I've owned quite a few cars. Quit counting after I went over 100. The state of Washington sent me a letter one year and said I had to get a dealers license if I sold one more car. I had a 66 Coronet 440, automatic, 373 gears and sure grip in an 8 3/4 rearend. I bought a '67 Mustang GT with the 4 speed and a 390 in 1969. I had a '61 Impala, bubble top, California car but it was a cruiser. I owned 3 1950 Fords, a '53 Ford Crown Vic, 2 '56 Ford Fairlanes, a 1939 Oldsmobile and numerous others. Cars have always been a hobby of mine. I brought a 1967 Alfa Romeo Julia GT back with me from Italy. It was a slot car on rails and I ran it in SCCA autocross. Too bad we couldn't talk cars over coffee.

I hope that you have already sat in it, or you are on the short side. One of my buddies had one - he was 6'-2" and it was amusing to watch him fold himself into & out of it! :D

Not a problem, drove it all over Phoenix. I have owned 2 of its older cousins, '65 Austin Healey Sprites.

Oooh, you are a glutton for punishment!
When in school, lots of friends had AHs, Triumphs, and MGs. Even the odd Lotus and Ferrari. Used Ferraris were pretty cheap then. Most were clapped out racers that nobody wanted.

Our record was 6 kids in a '67 Sprite.

I had a 1969 MGB when I was in the AF, and at 6'1", I was just fine in it. A Midget, though was way too small.

Back in the mid-80s I had a 72 MG-B.... fun little car for a Sunday afternoon drive in the Pennsylvania Countryside......... or 2 bags of groceries....

You'd be speeding down the highway feeling that 70mph wind in your girlfriends hair..... check the speedometer and lo and behold........55!

Always wonder if I really could fit under an 18 wheeler!

Seemed to draw more Chicks than a 80s Vette.......
