I am leaning towards Tom K's opinion that the stocks appear to be Sanderson. The quality of the wood and checkering have me thinking that....

As 'Kansasgunner' said earlier, the stocks are Herrett's. "Shooting Stars" to be more specific....

I just had the chance to see and feel it. All I can say is WOW. It's not reamed out, finish is amazing for its age. It appears to be pretty original except for the grips which feel nice and appear to be in great shape. Owner has had it for 35+ years and he has taken very good care of it. I would have hurt myself getting the $$ out of my wallet for that one. The seller was only 20 years or so behind the times on prices. The 38/44's are great guns to own and shoot. And you don't have to worry, should I plus P or not.

Something I just have to mention because I'm involved in the same situation currently. Quite often these great deals aren't really all that great. When somebody that has cared for a firearm for many years makes the decision that it's time for a good friend or relative to be entrusted with the future care of their prized possession it can be a sad time for both parties. The realization that you may never shoot again and that your prized weapon would be better off in somebody else's hand is a tough thing to face. I'm now on the receiving end of one of those deals and it's really not a happy time. Sorry to be such a downer but this just hit really close to home.

Well she is all mine. $350 got me the revolver, two speed loaders, nylon holster and speed loader holders and a box of .38 special rounds. It is well worth the money. Thanks for all of the help!

Very nice!
I have a Transitional Outdoorsman I bought about 15 years ago. Has a Registered Magnum checkered barrel rib on it. Paid $400 for it. It's worth about 5 times that today.
What is the serial number? Feel free to xxx out the last few numbers.

Yes they are Herretts, it's stamped on the back. Something else stamped on it but can't make it out.
