Does anyone make one, i've tried all the searches to no avail.
This is the 8 shot 2 5/8" bbl w/smooth cyl. from the performance ctr. I really want to try this in an ankle holster.???

Steve, I never tell anyone what to do but I seriously dislike ankle holsters for any reason and for any gun and an N frame in an ankle holster sounds like wearing a boat anchor. Even with a short barrel it's a heavy piece and definitely not designed for ankle carry - at least not to my way of thinking.

Perhaps I am thinking correctly if nobody makes an ankle holster for an N-frame.......jus' sayin'............

Thank you all for your responses, but I still would like to know does anyone
manufacture an ankle holster specifically for this gun.Thanks........

Try doing a general search for holster makers then check thier web sites. If you don't find what you're looking for then perhaps one or more of the custom makers on the forum might make one for you. If you don't find anyone who makes on or willing to make one perhaps they think it's not economically feasible to do so and you won't find one.

Why do you want one in the first place? Just to say you have something no one else has?

No one carries an N-frame in an ankle holster, except perhaps Paul Bunyon -- hence why you can't find one.

You'll need to go bespoke. Contact your favorite holster maker and discuss a custom.

Anything and everything is done by someone. More power to you. But you will have to have one made.

The 627PC has a loaded weight approaching 3 lbs. The cylinder is nearly 1.75" in diameter and about the same in length.

I have a 3" 629 Deluxe that is very similar in overall profile, size, and weight. A very sturdy belt is required and the holster must be very strong to support that revolver with a reasonable degree of comfort and security.

Not quite enough to serve as a boat anchor, but I don't think I would want one strapped to my ankle. I've only been making holsters for 43 years so I'm sure there are a few bad ideas I have not heard yet.

Best regards.

I've been building rigs for four decades....an N frame ankle rig,
Is not practical enough to even go to the trouble of make a pattern.

Now with that being said, if'n a feller was built like ol Paul Bunyan he might pull it off.....;):D

As others have said, big guns are not practical to wear on the ankle. Even if such a holster were available, the imbalance of having one leg encumbered with all that steel will surely set off joint and back discomfort. You'll also feel it in your quads.

It would surely make one run in a circle.......;):D

Remember the Baretta TV show?
He carried a pair of ankle J frames - 36s- kept him balanced up.
Or maybe not. When his wife was killed, he left his Beretta in the restaurant.

I have a friend who ankle holster a Sig 239, don't know how he does, I can't ankle anything.

I kept looking at the title to this thread and thinking
"Nah, can't be serious. That'd be like dragging around a ball & chain!"

But I guess the OP is indeed serious about the idea.
No advise to offer other than what others have said - and that my old knees and hips ache just thinking about it....

SJK2,

Clint Smith (of Thunder Ranch fame) carries one of these in a pocket holster designed for him (Thad Rybka I think). Somewhere, I've seen an ankle holster for this pocket chain gun.

In the late 80s and early 90s, they used to make ankle holsters for the S&W 6906 and 3914s. Can't see why you COULDN'T commission a custom holster maker to fabricate one for you. It'll be expensive.

Not to insult your intelligence, but you'd have to wear something like the old USN Dungaree bell bottoms to adequately conceal and access the piece (due to the grip).

If you want them, I can send you a set of Uncle Mike's K/L frame Boot Grips. They won't fit PERFECT, but they'll fit. Another grip option is the Pachmayr COMPAC Professional (with open backstrap and open butt). Grip selection is just as important as proper concealment garments and holster.

PM me and I'll get them sent off to you... Hope this helps!
