So, I tried my hand at an online auction yesterday that had a 3913 and a 6904 up for bid, but due to the ridiculous 20% buyers premium, I was outbid on both. So undeterred and in true 3rd gen addict form, I started calling any gun shop within a 2 hour radius of my home looking for any 3rd gens that may be available, finally I hit pay dirt, a shop about an hour and fifteen minutes from me had a 6906 with 2 mags for $379.00. The owner said it was in good shape so I jumped in the car and made the trek. I was expecting it to be beat up for that price, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was in excellent condition, square trigger guard and very clean with only very minor blemishes. It has the half moon style night sights and they still glow rather brightly! I offered him $350 cash and he gladly accepted, so it was $380 out the door!

This is my first double stack and I am loving the way it feels in my hand. It fit nicely into my remora 3913 holster so I carried it today and it was very comfortable, in fact, this may become my new EDC gun. I plan on taking it to the range tomorrow and I will try to post a report and some pics.

This is now my 4th 3rd gen in addition to my 3913, 4506-1, and 4516-2. I am eagerly seeking out one of the 10mm versions. I also found during my search, a 4043 with 4 mags for $450, and a 4053 with one mag for $500. Not sure if I would like the DAO, but I may make the trek to snatch up the 4043.

I think I am developing a problem! But it sure is fun looking for these guns!

Congrats on the new addition. Like you I am developing a real addiction to the 3rd gens. I own 6 ( 6904, CS-9, 910, 1066, 4043 and a Performance center MK III Shorty .40) and my absolute favorite carry pistol of the lot hands down is the 6904.

What's not to love here as it's small, lightweight, has a high mag capacity, shoots dead accurately and is rock solid reliable. Here is hoping your 6906 is as nice a shooter as my 6904 is!

Congrats on a nice gun and good for you for having a holster for the STG! I'm on board with Ascension in that while I have many 3rd gens including a couple of PC guns my workhorse is my 6904.:) I swapped the ambi decocker/safety for a single side and like it even better.

Congratulations! Your patience and persistence paid off, plus you are helping out a local business. I make all my purchases from my LGSs and pawn shops. They almost always have something I want and their prices are fair. I've never bought online and I probably never will. Post some pics when you can. We'd love to see your "new" 6906.

You got a good deal. I'm not fond of the squared trigger guard (mine is rounded) and I wish mine had the decocker only like my 4566, but as for function and accuracy I have no complaints. You'll enjoy shooting it.

The 6906 is a great, and greatly under appreciated, hand gun. I enjoy the heck out of shooting mine.

I have carried it in the past, but prefer the slightly thinner profile of the 3913.

That's just personal preference and I wouldn't hesitate to carry the 6906.

Congrats on your new addition, as well as the nice collection of pistols your amassing. It gets harder to pass them by each time you see one in the case.

Thanks for the comments. Was a little too rainy when I got home today, so the range will have to wait until tomorrow.Looking forward to shooting this gun! Working on pics.

Thanks!

Third Gens have this uncanny ability to somehow reproduce:roll eyes: very nice addition and score congrats in a few days my third gens are expecting a big brother 1006:D

Besides the grip what is the difference from the 6906 and 669?

Between my collection of revolvers and 3rd gen pistols it's quite an addiction - just like yours.

And yours......

And yours..........

Yours, too!

Yes, and you, too, you've got it, too - just look at you, drooling and smiling and giggling - you have it bad, son, really bad!

My first was actually a 5903 SSV and I have never taken a picture of it. I need to remedy that.

The CS-45 was next.

I had a 457 but a friend has it currently. Some day it will come home.

Then there's the 6906 - what a great gun!

A re-import, no clue from whence it came back to the USofA, but a great shooter and ever so easy to carry. I have a question on the subject of carry but I won't hijack this thread any further.

GOOD JOB!!! LGSs are the best!

My LGS recently acquired a 1905 Model P in 38 S&W - I need to talk to them.....!

I am jealous! The 10xx is at the top of my wish list, so the search continues! I sure do enjoy the hunt, whenever I travel out of town I always look up the LGS and make a visit to see what treasures I might find. :)

Love the LGS I'm lucky that work brings me by 4-5 LGS, 1006 has been on my list seems like forever i have had 500 brass saved for years for 10 mm all LGS know me and knew i was looking for one I've made it quite clear repeatedly:D
