Did some shooting yesterday with Sierra 175 SMK and 175 Tipped Match Kings. These things have a .545 BC. I also used my new Hornady Concentricity Gauge and they really tightened my groups up. I'm using IMR 4064 Powder. So far my M&P 10 really likes the following

Sierra 175 SMK 44.3gr IMR 4064 using Hornady Concentricity Gauge. 1.270" group at 200 yards! COAL 2.810

After doing a ladder test my accuracy node was around 43.2-43.5gr 4064 with 175 TMK. COAL was 2.810

Cool results!!!! I have been wondering about the 175's but have found no feedback.

Any testing you can share with 4895 or RL 15, in 168? Or 175?

Didnt really measure accurately but its a general idea of what this gun can do with ammo it likes. The following was at 200 yards prone off my range bag. 5 shot group with 1 flier. 4 shots all within about an inch group and the flier was an additional inch away to the left off the paper. Ammo used was freedom munitions 168gr bthp reman.

Same ammo, next try, same flier...

I'm not trying to be a know it all but thats not an inch group. You're supposed to measure from farthest bullet to bullet not just the general width of the group. I'm not including your flier either, that happens to me occasionally. Still a great group at 200 yards with a semi auto and a skinny barrel. I'm out performing my friends R700 with a $1,000 stock.

Thanks man. Unfortunately i have only used IMR 4064 thus far. I just now found a good recipe that the gun likes and i'm going to stick with it until i have a reason not to. I have wondered about RL 15. My friend was using 4895 and was getting sporadic results with his R700 during weather changes. I've only been reloading for 6 months but i'm extremely technical. I'm also still using Lee dies. So now i'm going to do a couple more groups with that recipe and make sure i can do it again. Then i'm going to load some TMK's and see if i can get some good groups. Hopefully in the next month i'll be out at Rayners Range smacking steel at 1,000 yards

Yeah the leatherman was just for comparison purposes. I measured both for real, and the top one came out to 1 1/4" 4 shot group. The flier is on the backboard back at the range so i cant measure that. The 2nd one is just under 1 5/8th" 4 shot group with the flier about 1 1/2" away. For all intended purposes, its a 1 moa gas gun for me. I cant complain about that. Especially reman ammo...

Here's mine. Groups at 50 and 100 yards. I jerked the trigger on the flyer at 50. Mine loves 165 gr. rounds.

These are from last evening. 100 yards
Brass-LC-14
Primer-Federal 210M
Bullet-Hornady 165gr SST
Powder-BL-C2 45grains
OAL 2.800"
Lee Factory Crimp Die

First up is the 3 to see where it was hitting.
I should have quit after 2, as they were in one hole.

After adjusting the scope these are the next 3

These were off a picnic table with a tripod mounted on Non-free floating handguard.

I think my next move will be the handguard switch, but I am very happy with these.

A very honest sub 2 MOA, and closer to 1.5

2cants,
That is some great shooting!
Is the OAL a typo, or is it actually 2.600"?
These rifles get enough bad press, it is good to see some great groups being thrown by them.
Jim

Sorry- typo - should have been 2.800" from my records. I can't measure any as I shoot them all today :)
800m @ 13"x13" - good hits (7m/s crosswind gusting to 9) - so not best conditions.

I could upload the other many rubbish groups - IMO the MP10 is very sensitive to ammunition.
