An observation

Hey, you guys left the electronic door open and I got in! Across the board (pun intended) we seem to be quite civil in comparison to many others and I rather enjoy it here.

I'm not so sure the demographics of your usual gun forum include many individuals with government supplied laptops, internet connections and free food. No sir I think there is something else at work here.....and it scares me.

Ever watch Leno interviewing college kids on the street? God help us! :(

I've been working for 50 years. I have "acquaintances" that don't and drive better cars, have bigger parties, go on more extravagant vacations, and show up at the local ER when they have a sore throat. I'm going to get "stupid" classified as a "terminal illness" and go on SSDI. With all the associated "perks" it would pay better than my present gig (Imagine my surprise that if I went on SSDI now I would get a couple hundred more a week than if I work the next 5 years and quit at 67). Yep, I'm terminally stupid, send the check. Joe

I bought that gun you have spent 2 years trying to find for $200 last week, it was a 5-screw, NIB, with tools and original receipt and the cancelled check.

I knew a guy who shot himself in the foot to get out of the Army during the Vietnam conflict, and then collected disability for over forty years until he croaked.

At the risk of stating the obvious, Internet forums tend to be self-selecting. People go where their interests are and stay when they find common interests and opinions.

I like it here... Informative, amusing and people here like cool guns. Occasionally, the moderators lock down a thread that gets out of hand. Works for me. :D

Most intelligent people under-estimate the stupidity of the general population. To fully understand just how stupid the "average" person is, try working for the general public in retail sales for corporate America.

I firmly believe that 75% of the public (95% if under age 30) cannot solve a simple problem using common sense. This critical skill / talent was not needed to play video games. I'll stop now and avoid a "ding" for political incorrectness.

"No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people." -- H.L. Mencken, 1926.

Despite his misanthropy, Mr Mencken would be celebrated as a great wit were he alive in this era.

Not much of the population is "smarter than your average bear". You could dump a truckload of "sense" on people and they would still stumble through live in YOUR way.

Some days I look around and think...I glad I getting older, if I was younger I'd smack somebody...but then the "social media" wackos would put me on youtube and the 6:00 news.

To comment on your topic in a more serious note..The internet forum community has been riddled with posters who feel compelled to comment,or advise on subjects they no nothing about.I see very little of that taking place here.
