Escaped murderers: thoughts?

I believe that our fish & game laws make it illegal to drive around with a loaded long gun. If you have a carry permit, you may have a loaded handgun in your vehicle.

Yes as a may issue state which means it is much harder to get a permit, so only those who have connections or have jumped through all the hoops and fees can do this. Singling out the poor and those without connections to fend for themselves disarmed in public. Which is exactly why I made my comment in the first place: Great state to be loose in where the majority of the population is disarmed out on the street

I got my New York State pistol permit almost thirty years ago when I was about 26. I had no "connections". The "hoops" you speak of were a few character references, finger prints, and a photo to go with my application. I think that's reasonable. I was recently a reference for a friend who was approved for a carry permit, although I will admit that those are hard to get in this county nowadays. Not sure if he had any connections that I wasn't aware of. :)

I would imagine in that part of the state, and under the circumstances, if a citizen dropped the hammer on them in self-defense, it would be difficult to find a prosecutor who would bring charges or to convene a jury that would be willing convict the shooter. Even in NY.

Unless they are of room temperature IQ they
have split up and vacated the area.
Seems it was like a long con on the prison employee.
When that was completed it would seem would have
something pre planned to clear the area.

LOL yeah NY is free.... hahahaha

Too bad you cant carry them and use them in self defense outside when you need to. Yeah yeah, you are one of the special ones with a permit..... unlike millions of others but you still can't defend yourself like you can in a free state.

Do you drive around your town and area like this legally? I do. How's that work in the free state of NY?

Thing is, I don't need to drive around like that ;)

Someone comes in they get shot, even in NY. And no charges.
So much for the "legal beagles" :D

Do you really just ride around like that?

Why?

Unless you're going to the range, to the gunshop/gunsmith, or going hunting, why would you just drive around heavily armed like that? You "drive around" like that all the time? Just because you can, maybe? Just to show off?

And you just leave them laying around in there, unsecured, while you're driving around, let 'em slide all over the place when you make turns or accelerate away from a stoplight? Where those guns gonna go if you have to slam on brakes? How often you have to realign those sights after they've been banging around? Just curious.

What do you do with those guns if you have to get out and go in a store for a while or something? Just leave 'em out in the car/truck? Or do you tote 'em all around inside with you while you're shopping or in the dentist's chair or doctor's office? Bet that's a sight to see.

CNN was doing an interview with a local this morning. When asked how they were handling the danger, he said, "This is a very pro-gun area and everyone was armed and well prepared for anything that happens." Makes ya feel good, doesn't it?

And looking to cash in on the 100G reward. They better hope the cops find em' first. ;)

Escaped murderers: thoughts?

Several options.

1. They'll be caught and returned to prison. Time added to their sentences for escaping, for whatever that's worth.

2. They'll be killed, probably by the cops, possibly by a citizen or citizens working together.

3. They'll surrender, like the moral cowards they are.

4. They might kill themselves, again like the cowards they are.

5. I seriously doubt either of these punks is any sort of outdoorsman, so it's possible they'll fall off a cliff and squish themselves or drown trying to cross a river or something. Not likely, but it could happen.

If I had my druthers, I'd hope for number 2 or number 4, with number 5 as a distant third.

But frankly, as long as they don't harm or kill an innocent citizen, law enforcement person, or K-9 police officer, I couldn't care less what happens to them.

Besides, regardless of the outcome in this life, we all know where they'll end up in the afterlife, don't we?

Actually not.

That's why I hope something REALLY painful, humiliating and PERMANENT happens to them in the here and now.

I'd rather see them dead, but if they ended up like Nidal Hassan, I wouldn't complain TOO much.

So I take my motorcycle, my dog (Jack Russell Terrier) seated on his sheepskin strapped to the gas tank, expecting to be waved right through. I'm 5'3" with all the gear, boots, leather jacket, gloves, full face helmet, and my dog is wearing his "doggles" as usual.

Stay safe, John

I would like to see a picture of that. :D:D:D

I could do it just like you if I had those wires dangling everywhere sure to ensnare that AR if it was ever required to be put in use. Are those the new Magpul Theory Based Tactical Tangle series?

If my phone charger and MP3 cable makes it impossible for me to pull my rifle out. I will immediately turn in my man card and call myself Caitlyn. :D
