Looking for a 27-2 3.5 inch. How much

As you're well aware 3.5" Model 27s are hot at present.
From what I've seen, $1K give or take a Benjamin or 2 is the going rate.
Maybe try a WTB ad here.

If you are serious, budget $1500 and go on Gun Broker if you are looking for a nice one.
Here is the thing though, are you even going to shoot it? They are really neat looking, but I can't even imagine what they are like to shoot with Full house magnums. My 4" guns with full house magnums are pretty snappy.
If you are looking to collect, I get it, the 27 is just a great great revolver.
But I'd budget $1500, and if you get it for less... Gravy!

Actually, the recoil isn't bad, even with 158gr loads on top of WW-296. I wouldn't dare use the same loads in a K frame .357.
The muzzle flip is a bit more because of the shorter tube. But the N frame soaks up a lot of recoil. I don't shoot mine with the standard Magna stocks, because they're just too small. But I use Ahrends targets, and they're extremely comfortable. Pachmayr's work very well, also.
I would think that a nickel version in either prefix would bring more $$$ too.
The recoil is not a problem. My Pre-27 3 1/2" is superbly accurate with a full house .357. Target size stocks and the natural weight tame it pretty well.

I had one pop up on a local gun trading site about 18 months ago for $650. Looked good but the "Airport PD" marking turned me off some. Plus I was 5 months removed from heart survey with bills to pay. Wish I'd pounced, that'd have an $850 tag on it now.

Agree with the above comments; the market seems to have calmed down slightly from its peak of 6-12 months ago but a budget of $1000-1200 will find a good one. There are several very active buyers of this model here that may disagrees with this.
OK, budget $1000, and find that one that screams at you for $1150, and you come up short. Take $1500, and buy one for a $1000, and come home with the gun and $500 for your gun sock for the next one. Build up your sock to about $4000. You dont have to spend it, but at least you are prepared.
More than I wanted to pay....... you might want to look for a 4" 28..... before they go out of sight also!!!!!!!

The 3.5 inch Model 27-2 has always been the darling of the 27 buying public and they have risen in prices a lot the past 3 years. When I bought mine 7 years ago it looked mint and I got it $700. The problem was it had a name engraved on the frame under the grip area. I knew that when I bought it and the price was fair at the time. When I sold it I sold for the same price as a shooter grade revolver.

I have a 27-2 3 1/2, mint in original box with paperwork and unopened cleaning kit and a letter from Roy Jinks. I've been offered $1400, turned it down. I value it at $2000. A good place to find one are trade in's at Mom and Pop gun shops because they are not aware of collector pricing.
