Chrome-Silicon Buffer Spring?

I have never tried one. However, for $12 it's not a bank breaker. Get one and give us a review. I'd be interested to hear what you think.

Yup, ended up ordering one a few minutes ago. Figured it wouldn't hurt and didn't see anything negative on them. Once it arrives and I get the time to run a few rounds with it, I'll let y'all know.

I have been looking at those myself, cannot wait to read about your review on it when you get some rounds through it.

yeah, but $12.98 shipped ;) gotta love shipping :( I was able to find one for about $1.50 cheaper shipped so I went that route, every penny helps.

LOL 7 bucks must be their go to shipping price. I bought an upper receiver and 2 QD end plates, 7 bucks shipping. I had thought at the time about trying a couple of those springs. But I'm can't bring myself to replace something that's working and I don't have the noise that is sometimes associated with buffer springs. Far as I can tell, spring rate should be the same, if it were an increased spring rate, I'd love to try it, as it is, I am wanting to try a H2 buffer, but not yet willing to put the ~40 bucks out for it.

I wonder, is it recommended to grease up this spring as is recommended to grease up the mil spec spring? I'll be curious about your thoughts on this spring, I see a couple members mention them repeatedly.

I got one from Damage Industries a while back.

I can attest that is did get rid of the grinding and twang. I don't use any oils or grease

Here is what DI lists.

Constructed from certified USA made chrome silicon spring wire

• Heat treated, stress relieved

• Provides consistent spring pressure for hundreds of thousands of cycles (estimated 750,000+)

• Greater resistance to heat & high stress cyclic rates

• Improves operation, long-lasting performance

• Consistent pressure reduces bolt bounce

• Significantly reduces the perceived "twang" noise which is common during firing.

Have you received/tried this spring yet? Anxiously awaiting report!

Just received it in the mail a few minutes ago and installed it in my rifle. Now just need to find some time to get some trigger time.

Honestly I'm not impressed with it.. It gets caught up on the detent upon installation and removal unlike the stock spring, and I can hear it rattle around when I move the rifle unlike my stock spring. Shooting wise, I can not say for, but I'd rather have a quiet spring while moving as oppose to a quiet one while shooting. Just sent the company an email to see what is going on.

I have Damage Industries springs on all of my AR's. They seem ok, but I also have H2 buffers on them. I did try a wolf extra power spring, it was a lot longer that the factory spring and the Damage springs. I thought I might have a the wrong spring from Wolf, but the part number on the bag said that it was for a carbine, so I dont know if its the right spring or not, its just in my parts box.

What's the matter with the spring that comes with the gun? I've been shooting mine for three years now with no problem. Never heard of a spring problem.
