Ok, I've been watching this nickel snub 19-4 on Gunbroker for the past week just to see where it was headed. Things must get crazy on Sunday's on GB, because about a month ago exactly, I watched a 19-3 sell for nearly $2,800. Well, tonight things became even more deranged...

This gorgeous 19-4 nickel snub sold for an outstanding amount of $4,001! I think I may be losing my mind...just had to share with you guys again. See the link below.

I did...one heck of a pissing match between two people from about $2,500 up. I salute the person that landed it for 4K. :p

I saw that also as I'm looking at a 19-4 blued 2 inch at lgs, so I'm watching 19's. Also saw an m60 sell for $1075 today. On my watch list too as I have one I'm considering selling. I guess good on the sellers.

Have you ever got caught up in an auction and paid more than the item was worth, just because you were so determined not to loose it to your opponent?

Well, here's two guys who definitely just did that. IMHO

I see charity benefit auctions do that...but it's for charity.

Sorry guys...that was dumb! I'll bet the seller almost passed out on that one...all the way to his bank.

One of those guys might get up in the morning thinking *** did I do. But then again to some who have it and want something $ is no issue. Congrats to the buyer it's a beauty

It is always interesting what catches a bidder's attention....I recently overbid for and won (what I thought was) sleeper prewar M&P. Sometimes item condition overcomes fiscal restraint, but it also is closely related to "I have been looking for one of these for 5 years".....&$@)! That other guy!

I look for my Gunbroker moments in exactly the opposite direction, in the basement, not on the rooftop so to speak. I just paid about $100 less than the going rate for a nice .38 Spl. Victory model because the seller apparently didn't know what he had, apologized in the description for lots of honest wear on the bluing (which of course was never there in the first place) and mistook the nicely preserved wartime phosphate finish for heavy patina. Due to mislabeling and unexciting photos, nobody else seems to have noticed, and for five days I was and remained the only bidder. That's MY kind of Gunbroker craziness.

All you need to do is get two guys that are A type, I'm not losing to the other guy mentality bidders . I go to auctions here and there, and it's amazing to me what some people will pay ( at times much more than new ) for something that you can still get. My buddy calls it auction fever.

Gun Broker

It's crazy !:p On the other hand, only 2 bidders found a "sleeper"; a Model 51-1, original grips, and probably 92-95%, and it sold for $320( that was Saturday):D
