I got this book from my Daughter that borrowed it from one of the folks in the book, its written by the man that founded Blackwater security that provided about every thing that the military didnt have time to do in the sandbox of Iraq. They got a very good revue from the people they guarded and transported but were reated badly by the state dept and most government agencys they protected. They had to sign a no talk clause and the gov. used them for a whipping boy when they did exactly what they were told to do and it might not turn out to well. The book was written by Erik Prince. It was the Blackwater people that were ambushed and burned and drug through the streets and hung up on the bridge over the Euphrates river. It is a book that onced I started it was hard to lay down, you might be able to find it in your library, its published by Penguin IBSN 978-1-59184-721-2. Jeff

There are a lot of accusations leveled at Black Water from every thing to kicking down doors and confiscating guns from law abiding gun owners to murdering refugees during Katrina.

I have no interest in reading a book glorifying them

Accusations by the liberal press is one thing.Hearing all sides is another.I Seem to remember at Katrina and I was working in Mississippi at the time. That it was police officers from California knocking down that old lady on TV.

The best book I've read about Blackwater, the good and bad, from someone at the sharp end who worked for the company at the peak of its activity, is "The Bremer Detail" by Frank Gallagher. He was the guy in charge of guarding Ambassador Paul Bremer during the year he ran occupied Iraq, probably the most dangerous personal protection job in the world at the time, and pulled it off without ever getting into a firefight or losing one of his team. He does have some interesting things to say about some of the guys Blackwater sent over there when their contracts expanded faster than they could find quality people. As always, black-and-white judgments don't do justice to a complex situation.

I never heard Blackwater had any role in domestic law enforcement.
