Do only "old"guys edc revolvers

Old enough to recently get my Medicare card. EDC is a S&W J frame in the front pocket. Has been a J frame for years. If I feel the need for something with more rounds, it is a S&W third generation 9mm.

I'm 48, I carried a 342 for many years. For the last 5 or so it's been a Kimber CDP. I still carry a 638 pretty frequently. I just picked up a Colt GCC and am amazed at how easy it is to carry.

The times they are a changin

I am 65 and carry revolvers round out here in the boonies. A lot of the time since all the violence lately, I carry my old Colt 1911 with a couple of extra mags. I don't worry about the reliability of any of them. I like that .45 round and am a much better shot with it than my M37 or M65. :o I love them all the same and I don't play favorites. I kinda like this guys carry technique.
Peace,
gordon

Old is not a disability. Young and dead is happening all to often. Respect seems to be in short supply these days. The right tool in the hands of an experienced adult with good judgement will never be questioned by me.

At 18 I bought my first gun as an adult. It was a S&W 66-2. In Texas, we did not have CHL yet, so it rode around with me in the truck (mostly legal in some places). Fast forward a few years...I began to carry a 640-1 and a Sig P series full/mid size (legally of course). If I just had one gun, it was likely a J frame, or maybe a N frame out hunting with a long gun.

Am I old? not by my standards...I have a few gray hairs now, but don't mistake age for disability.....an old guy will kill you faster than a young one ;)

I'm 62 and if I could have only one type of handgun I'd keep my 7 SA revolvers.

57 years old. Carried revolvers per policy from '81 to '89 on duty until I was issued a Glock 17. My off duty carry is still Glocks on the badge and any of several snub and service size .38 revolvers on my CWP.
I guess I go both ways...

After this latest bit of subhuman savagery (no doubt to be followed by more in the near future), I've decided to switch from my Smith 36 to my 3.5" M1911, or at least to BOTH when in the car.

If something happens in my immediate vicinity, I have not the SLIGHTEST intention of running away, so I'm switching to something more amenable to dealing with multiple adversaries. In addition, the winter weather now makes it more convenient for me to carry in a way other than in pocket. I never wear untucked shirts, but sweaters are another matter.

Changing times require changing tactics.

Agreed

My EDC is a Ruger LCR .357

Recent events have me leaning to my MP .40 with 15 shot capacity

Winter enables easier concealment

My fear is the events in San Bernadino are sadly only the beginning.

Age: 46

Be vigilant.

I hate like Hell reading on the forum about decrepit "old folks"... who, in fact, are 3, 4, 5 to as much as 10 years younger than me. :(

Man, does that ever make me feel old.

I am 43 I carry a 2.5" 686+ is one of my carry guns.

Would some people consider me an old guy? My 7 year olds nickname for me is big old dude. Maybe he is on to something.

I also carry a 1911.

Just went to my first CCW class yesterday, although I have been carrying CCW for more than 50 years. I am in my "mid 70s" and always carried under retired LEOSA, but I got tired of paying the background check fee on every new gun, so I'm getting the state permit that makes that un-necessary.
Anyway, the class was a large one of more than 35 people (well supervised by 5 instructors) and consisted of folks my age or younger, but I was the ONLY one with a revolver. Makes me fell older than I already am.

I'm a 70 year old grumpy Mick and don't give a hoot what the young pukes carry (that would be anybody born after JFK passed). Just remember that the old guys don't have the stamina anymore so they have to shoot fast. Best leave us be.

I'm 65 and at present have a dozen handguns. Every one of them is a revolver in chamberings of 22LR, 22Mag, 38Special, 357Mag, & 41Mag. Been carrying since 1971. Have owned semi-autos in 380 & 9mm simply don't care for them.

Like use Enough Gun,

Please tell me the story behind this intriguing revolver. Was this originally a model 27, but then you put a model 24 barrel on it and swapped the Cylinder as well?
