I have had a concealed carry weapon permit for many years now. That includes handguns and knives. Now we are allowed to carry handguns open or concealed with that same permit. I thought about it for a little while and decided to carry openly. It(OC) has the same few restrictions applying to concealed carry. Never have had any problem with anybody, think most people around here are armed legally anyway. All neighboring states I frequent, ARK. MISS. ALA. GA., also allow O.C. Can do anything I need to do down here, too lazy to travel very far and never had the desire to fly. I can reach them all in a day or less of driving. Carrying open just states that you can deal with force by force if required. Only way to deal with conflict in a civilized society is reasoning or force and reasoning is always the best way. Most criminals however, look for targets that will be quick and easy. Look at real statistics today. I honestly think that the anti's are on their last legs and are really scratching for sensationalism now, they know that "WE THE PEOPLE" are real Americans and will prevail, eventually, even in some of their (unnamed)strongholds in the N'east and Far West. I personally think there are just too many of good law abiding citizens in this country to allow this bullying to go on much longer. I think there is already a law against bullying? Stay aware and be safe. What do ya'll think? Please vote.

Concealed. It's legal, doesn't start needless discussions or arguments, gives element of surprise if needed against humans (NOT my most likely of unlikely needs). Also, around here, OC might as well be illegal - I wouldn't have my permit for more than five or ten minutes after I started OC, if I were so inclined.
I have a license and carry a knife and pistol everywhere it isn't expressly prohibited. Texas will start allowing open carry on 1 January, but I'll probably still conceal almost all the time. I'd rather avoid the attention and maintain the element of surprise in most situations.
1) Concealed (except OCCASIONALLY when I'm going to/from work, I'll carry open), but no matter what, my badge is right next to my gun.
2) I don't want to made a 'priority target' by a BG who may be casing a place I'm in at the time.
Concealed since 1982.No longer in the protection business,so I rarely carry these days.Things would have to be pretty bad for me to go armed.But I have always practiced three levels of going armed when I have to.
Deep concealment- light power.
Moderate concealment- adequate power.
Heavily armed- extreme power.
I am a firm believer in not advertising to anyone that you are armed,unless Law Enforcement has pulled you over for some reason.

It's the only really sensible thing to do - nobody has to know you're armed.
I've been carrying a concealed weapon for about 35 years. It's been legal for about half of that time. Nobody knew before; nobody needs to know now.
I pocket carry a M642 most days. Certain times and places, due to who I am and where I go, and the target the places I go to are to today's attackers, I switch to a 6906.
It's the only really sensible thing to do - nobody has to know you're armed.

This is Wyoming....not just Wyoming, but the part of Wyoming that thought the rest of Wyoming was too liberal and tried to secede...No one notices or cares if you walk around with a gun, bowie knife, etc on your hip or dress like you just came off a cattle drive...because maybe you did. You make sure to take your gun around with you because something, or occasionally someone, might eat you.
With rare exceptions like military bases or VA property, I carry how I please (mostly concealed in town) and pretty much all the time. Little gun in reach, big gun not far. There are only 2 stores left in town with gunbuster signs, partly due to my leaving cards on doors suggesting they were driving away business with their signs.
Why do I carry a gun? Cops are too heavy to tote around, and the ones I know have better things to do than guard me. And like the fellow from Wyoming said, there is satisfaction in being able to deal with whatever is trying to take a chunk out of you.

I have a fire extinguisher in the kitchen, carry all kinds of insurance on my home and cars, and have been shot at more than once during my 30 yrs. on the street. Carrying, concealed only, in retirement just makes sense. I'm 69, walk w/a cane, cannot run away due to my handicap, and am too old to engage in a fist fight anymore. I mind my own business and do not "engage" in road rage. I want to be left alone and go about my business below the radar.

I have carried a firearm since I left active duty in '76.... Texas will be open carry on Jan.1, 2016.... I will continue to carry as I see fit on that day. Why you ask... because I am a free man.......... so far at least.

Concealed only,thats the law where I am, normally I only carry full time in Nov. and Dec. when the crazies are lurking,
I live in a very safe place in the mountains,besides those two mo. I carry on show and tell day when a bunch of us old farts get together at a collectors place a couple times a week.

Concealed always, even tho we have open carry now in Missouri. At least I don't have to worry my weapon is exposed while reaching for something.
