The Best Target 9MM

I imagine it's an often asked question, but I'm at the point where I want a 9mm that shoots straight, very straight, and there are too many choices. So far it seems that the best of the best are the S&W 952 long slide and the Sig p210 Legend. If I was to choose between these two which would you recommend and why?

Neither. They're both out of production, so while its not as bad as chasing a Unicorn, you'll end up paying for a "collectable" rather than a shooter.

I went through the same search and decided to go with the current production CZ Tactical Sport and am very happy with this pistol that is way more accurate than I ever will be.

BC1023: thank you for posting your thoughts, excellent descriptions and definitely an inspiration for me.

When the thread was started, they were both in production.

These days, if you want the best, you have to look on the used market.

I have never had the opportunity or the cash for a 210 S. But
I did stumble onto a Browning HP Comp. model that out shoots
9 mm that I have owned. The gun is kind of a orphan, got it by
dumb luck at auction several years ago. Supposed to have been
made for European market. I still don't know very much about
it. Shoots mil spec very well, haven't found a cast load it likes.

With S&W, the answer is clearly the 952.

In the "other" category, the SIG P210-2 or 210-6, but NOT the SIG 210 Legend.

I have a few 9s.
X5 best for being heavy but I have all around model and sights are not to my liking. I had to put Nill grips on it to fit my hand. 2000$+
P210-6 is not heavy enough, sights not full target, but worth every penny of its $3K cost.
952-2 5" love that stainless. Reminds me of my 52s. Trigger is not like 52. Groups well. Snappy recoil, easier on follow thru. 1700$
Range Officer- cruddy trigger, too much pull weight. Needed Nill anatomical grips with palm shelf. Good starter gun. Get it tuned or at least new 11# hammer spring. Pop out the recoil spring and match to a soft reload.

I certainly would like to hear a report from an owner of the new Walther Q5 target pistol. That's the one that's on my radar.
