Just curious as to how many lb triggers you all are running and do you carry with one in the pipe in your shield as your EDC? Does the trigger pull determine if you carry one in the pipe?

If it ain't chambered, it ain't loaded.

Might as well carry a stick.

This right here. If you lighten the trigger to the point you don't feel safe carrying with one in the chamber; you've put yourself at risk! Light triggers are for range/competition guns.

Carrying an EDC/CCW without a round chambered also puts you at risk. You've got to be comfortable carrying a handgun, if you're not, then maybe you shouldn't until you do feel confident with the gun AND you ability. ;)

BTW, all my guns are stock and all can be carried daily-even my FS 1911-"cocked & locked".

Mine are all right at 5lbs and of course I carry it loaded and chambered. An un-chambered gun in a defensive situation is not only going to slow you down, it's going to require strong muscle memory to defeat adrenaline and/or the natural instinct to freeze up. The question in and of itself suggests perhaps some training with a qualified instructor is in order. Unless of course you are from Israel, in which case an unloaded chamber is the norm and their training is designed to bring the gun into action as quickly as possible.

I don't yet carry but when i am ready i will train to carry with my MP loaded and chambered. I realize life isnt an action movie, and i dont expect in a situation I could calmly draw my firearm, rack it, etc all the while getting ready to defend myself. If i am going to carry, it will be with the training and planning that i am fully loaded and any situation that may arise could require a split second reaction. And that is what I will make sure i'd want to be ready for (of course as ready as one could be anyway).
As for triggers, i wont touch my MP's. I am fine with what they came with, for me I see no reason to modify anything.
just my .02

Don't read into the question. It's just a question. I know what I carry and the trigger pull and I am very confident with my setup. Just wanted to see what everyone else had going on.

I recently started carrying a Glock 19, Gen 4 which of course has NO external safety. Being overly cautious and concerned about an accidental discharge, I installed the NY 2 trigger which increased the trigger pull to about 11 Lbs. I know that some will gasp for air and clutch their chest with this decision, however, I have a firm sense of security with this trigger pull.

if you are uncomfortable, with striker fired guns and one in the barrel, maybe should look at another platform like DA/SA guns, the holster plays a very important role in safety, have that trigger covered.

6.5 pounds....one in the chamber....safety on. All of mine have manual safeties. Apex in the FS to clean it up, but still around 6.5
Racking in the heat of the moment is a fail point that should be eliminated in my opinion.

one in the pipe, what if a situation comes about where you would need to be stealthy and not make any noise, Hard to do if you need to rack a slide. going back to all stock triggers.

Thank you all to answered the question about their setup. Not sure why everyone else questioned what I do.
