Can we still get K frame "original" grips from S&W?

Grips can be either OEM, whatever that was for your gun, or personalized in whatever way makes it fit your hand (or your attitude) the best. Also, like shoes, they can be quickly changed to "suit the occasion." OP, you will not be likely to ever find THE original grips from your gun, but if you want it to "look right," the service style stocks with rounded edges on the bottom will come about as close as you can get (solid wood, no diamond.) OTOH, you have mentioned getting other grips "for the heck of it" and this opens the door to combat style, "boot" grips, ivory or stag grips, ad infinitum. To my hand and eye, the smooth combat finger groove style that S&W used about that time is quite nice, and would have been an available option about then.

AlphaSig, your target grips are beautiful. I don't suppose you were fortunate enough to get a "book matched" pair whose grain is the same on both sides? If yes, you got a tremendous deal on them! I get to the Chantilly show a couple of times a year and you have to really work hard to find any real bargains... you done good! xsentinel, those same target grips were available as an option (or post-factory) for your Model 10 and I've seen them installed that way many times (just FYI.)

About a year ago I bought some grips from S&W. They are K/L Square Dymondwood Checkered Service. They're laminated. I'm going to include some pics. Someone above asked if they were thinner than the original magnas. These are 1.121 in. measured where the screw goes through. I have some original magnas on an N frame, they're 1.33 in. measured where the screw goes through. The grip frame on the mdl 19 and the one on the mdl 28 are nearly exactly the same thickness.
I'm not crazy about 'em.

Thanks for those pics. Just what I needed to see. I got some original used older ones from a member here and they are in fairly good shape but don't look quite right on such a new looking gun. I think I'm going to get a set of those brand new dymondwood ones pictured above from S&W. They look close enough to original and would look brand new so more fitting for this particular gun.
What don't you like about them? From the pics they look real nice. Not original but they still look real nice.

To xsentinel: First of all, I'm not whining or complaining about the Dymondwood S&W original grips. They fit my medium sized hands well. I am keeping my eye & wallet open for some period correct mdl 19-3 grips because I'd like to have something a little more original. The thing that I dislike is that they look like plywood. Good quality plywood, but still not what I'd like on that particular revolver.
