The first of October I had 11 bottles of Bourbon sitting on my gun safe. The bottles were in differ levels use. One bottle of Jim Beam Bookers, a bottle of Bakers, Knob Creek, Knob Creek Single Barrel, Knob Creek Rye, Buffalo Trace, Willet, Bartlett, Eagle Rare, and 2 bottles of Jim Beam.

I am now down to one bottle of 2 shots of Bookers and the Jim Beam.

I collect Bourbon, it's a interesting hobby, and I get to enjoy the fruits of collecting. Now that my collection has shrunk it's time to take a trip to Kentucky to restock and find some new ones. January feels like good time go Kentucky.

I like the Corn, Wheat, Barley mash bill, the rye is little peppery for my taste.

Anyone else collect Bourbon?

I thought about collecting Scotch/whiskey but I know it's impossible. The good stuff is expensive and I can't do just one shot so it would end up being a fast revolving collection

I'm more into Single Malts, but by the time I decide one is good enough to keep the bottle is empty. The only thing I have learned for sure I like anything that comes from the Island of Islay. Someday I would like to take a tour of that Island. I think there is like a dozen distilleries there.

I collect bourbon.Just got back from a vacation in west Texas visited a bunch of liqour stores. And found some special releases. It seems even though Tn is right next to Ky they send a better variety to Tx.

One of my favorite Willie Nelson songs.

"Whiskey River"

Whiskey River take my mind,
Don't let her mem'ry torture me.
Whiskey River don't run dry,
You're all I've got, take care of me.

Whiskey River take my mind,
Don't let her mem'ry torture me.
Whiskey River don't run dry,
You're all I've got, take care of me.

I'm drowning in a whiskey river,
Bathing my mem'ried mind in the wetness of its soul.
Feeling the amber current flowin' from my mind.
And warm an empty heart you left so cold.

Whiskey River take my mind,
Don't let her mem'ry torture me.
Whiskey River don't run dry,
You're all I've got, take care of me.

[Instrumental]

I'm drowning in a whiskey river,
Bathing my mem'ried mind in the wetness of its soul.

I also have a friend who collects single malts like others collect wine. I guess it doesn't really go bad, does it?

As for me, Bill W and I have a special kind of arrangement I intend to honor for many more years. I can look but I don't touch anymore...

Never got into collecting bourbon, but I have been known to assemble a collection of rye.

I didn't discover my affection for bourbon until about four years ago. I've since found I like the higher proof offerings. I'm fond of the wheaters too.

One strange thing I can say, "Elijah Craig" bottled the worst bourbon I've had. (EC 12 Yr Old) It was like trying to drink liquid smoke. They also bottled the best I've had the pleasure of sippin'. (Elijah Craig Barrel Proof #11.) The manager at the liquor store had to talk me into trying the EC BP #11. He said, "This ain't the same **** that's on the shelf." The young man knew what he was talking about. I'm glad I took him at his word.

I don't mind spending more for good bourbon, but I'm still looking for that $100.00 flavor in a $30.00 bottle.

At first, I thought this was about hair loss? :D

I don't collect bourbon so much as process it! :D

I'm going to take in the Kentucky Bourbon Tour in the next couple of weeks. Promises to be an expensive outing...,
